my sled just died

I was climbing up a pretty steep hill and starting sidehilling in the trees when all of a sudden my sled died. It was like if I hit the kill switch. Wouldn't fire up at all. Tgitt looked into it pretty good and we couldn't find what the problem was. Dropped it off at the dealer tonight. Any ideas what it could be?

My money is still on either fuel filter or fuel pump. It was getting spark, and when i put a little gas in the cylinders it would fire up, but once that fuel burned it would die. It was a bummer we were just getting into the goods!

Did you check the pump plug connection or the wires that run under the tank?

Thinking out loud because it felt like he hit the kill switch. Fuel filter usually stumbles at high load but will pass fuel at idle.

Could you hear the pump running at all when it was running off fuel you put in cylinders?

Put 12 volts to the fuel pump prime plug and see if the pump is running. If its running, find a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure. U might have to make your own setup for testing it though as these pros don't have a schrader valve anymore.

There is a small hole on top where the recoil attaches to the motor. It should have tape over it. on my 13 the tape was ripped from brand new.
Have seen a few 12 lose their stators this year.

I better check that on my other sled. Heading to McCall tomorrow would hate for that to happen again.
