My old ridin buddies are pu$$ys!!!

I feel your ridin buddy pain. I used to have 4 or 5 people that I rode with all the time. I am just sick of wasting the phone call to see if they want to go. We all got married within a year of each other and I get the usual excuses. I am married and my wife doesn't try to stop me in fact I blew up my sled last winter and spent two weekends fixing it. My wife asked me if I would fix it soon so I wouldn't be home all the time to bug her. She isn't used to me being home on weekends. It just pisses me off that my wife does more stuff than my friends. I guess I have a great wife. I wish my friends would just pony up and try a guys weekend but they are to scared to ask. I still ride almost every weekend dirt and snow. There are two days in a weekend, Me on one day, Her day the next or vise versa. I ride with the older crowd now which are 10 years or older than me. But a least they ride instead of trying to come up with excuses.

They are riding without me because they always go to the same ease, comfortable spots. They never push the limits of their comfort but they won't admit it... that was the point of the initial rant. I don't really care now, they can do whatever they want and it won't hurt my feelings.

AHH, sorry I misinterprited your first post. I thought you meant they don't go out at all. And if they go out but not with you that's also a whole different story. If their just not up to the challenge of riding like you used to, could be because they don't want to run the risk of damaging their machines in fear of having to fork out the expense to repair them etc. And if they say that's not it and they just want to slow it down..Which in that case I'd tell them to go see the wizard and ask him for some balls. If they don't want to ride like you used to I'd find some new riding buddies which isn't very hard to do.

I see your pain also....but I also have two little girls that want to ride all the time. I am saving for a 120 cc...however my machine broke doen 2 days ago I have yet fixed it. family stuff....I love my kids but sometimes they take up too much time. I will try to fix my sled tommorrow (hopefully one of my girls will hold the light)...

It's been my experience with friends starting new families that they can't necessarily afford it. They may have the toys etc and look good but their disposible cash is limited for the expense of fuel and other things for sledding and simply budget how much they can go out. They may want to go out for real but simply not in their budget to do so. But they will never tell you that, nor do I blame them. So what's they easiest way to bail?

Fosgate is right. Also when cash circumstances change you can no longer afford to trash a sled. The problem with that is it makes you hesitate just a bit and gets you off your edge. When that happens, that's when you are in trouble on some of the really tough start. In order to ride it you have to go 100% and your mind says, if I crash my sled, my season is over.

So if you don't want to ride with them, then don't. Don't make such a big deal. remember it's their choice how they ride, not yours.
