MY GOD! What the H E L L is wrong with these people???

In all honesty?? No, I have not. But we don't have panhandlers where I live. I pull people out of ditches all winter long. I always stop and ask if help is needed if I see a stranded or stalled motorist, whether it be a young kid with all the strength in the world or a scared old lady trying to get a spare tire on. I'm from rural America, that's what we do.

So if you are in the city and see a guy on the corner?

And don't play the rural america card...I grew up rural and I've lived city and I have met just as many self serving pompus pricks in the country as from the city.

Sorry state of human affairs when people will just walk right past a little girl like that and just ignore her.

your right...she was ignored...in North America she wouldn;t be ignored... she would have had her pockets gone through to see if she had any money..or put back to health for kiddie p@rn films..

Us as americans have the dignity and human respect for others that are in need most of the time.. They have no respect for human life over there ecspecill for women. Its just sad that so any people would walk away, I would think that human nature would set in no matter the laws and step in and do something. Magic8mystery or whatever it is i didnt know you guys treated someones life like that in Canada!?

We don't treat people like that in canada, we would help anyone out know matter who the hell you were or where you are from. I think these people are f**king twisted and need to be taken out. The guy in the second truck that ran her over should be shot in the forehead point blank as well.

Very rarely do I go to the City, But when I do I see hundreds of people on corners, you can't get them all, given traffic and stop light timing. And yes, there are pompous pricks in the country but percentage wise, not so much. For obvious reasons. For someone who recently just scored quite large on the generosity of a handful of sledders you are asking a bunch of pointless questions. My persona in real life might surprise you. I do tend to still go off on somebody who does something stupid in real life, like say, parking in front of trucks in a lot making it so people can't get out in an emergency, or driving like it's Nascar on icy roads and passing everybody and then a mile up the road ending up in a ditch. I'll stop, pull you out while letting you know how dumb that was. Yep, thats helping. It's a favor and a lesson, id CSP had got them, it would be a big azz fine and a big azz towbill aaaaand a lesson.

So who stopped and talked to a homeless guy asking for change this week?

Just last night some guy at the Pepsi Center who had a sign got 5 bucks from some tall goateed guy and his 7 year old son. The second time in 2011 that I went to the City of Denver.

Pointless how? Just trying to show that bad behavior isn't limited to China. Not sure what EWs generosity has to do with this though.

So we could say the percentage of rural and city pricks would be the same you jsut get more in the city due to population density?

good on you for helping that guy, I challenge you next time to give him 5 minutes of your time as well via conversation.

Persona in person does that mean you act different on here?

All those people that walked by, drove by, etc need to be hit by a car and left for dead.

I think giving a homeless guy change or talking to them and leaving someone for dead are way different categories. I have giving change or helped out when needed but if someone was in dyer need or really hurt I would do anything help, that's just being a human being with morals and I know I could not live with myself any other way.

Neglecting a homeless person and neglecting an injured person let alone a child bares no comparison.
Most homeless people choose their lifestyle by choices they made. Most homeless people will not work
or pull themselves out of their situation even if it was handed to them.

That child did not choose to be run over.

disclaimer(notice I used the word "most" and not all. I do understand there
are cases of decent people with ethics that have found themselves down and out or homeless)

that change could be keeping the person alive or the talk could encourage them to keep living.....

Or maybe "most" didn't exactly choose to be homeless....

Perhaps the injuries aren't visibile in the homeless person. Maybe that person is the 15 year old girl who was raped in front of a group, maybe she was forced to leave home as a result or ran away because of it. Would she not be injured?

disclaimer I do not know the actual statistics. BUT you might be surprised how many didn't choose or how many are veterans:face-icon-small-sho

disclaimer two-This is a fun way to spend the day.

Im really sad to say that I just read on Fox News that the little girl, Wang Yue, died last night of brain and organ failure.

What a sad sad story.

They say they have detained the two van drivers for "causing a traffic accident".

Its a sick twisted world we live in.

Wow that is just horrible everyone who walked by deserves to be run over! What is the world coming to? And to think that we borrow billions of dollars from them!

On a side note: Do you know if that panhandler is truly in need, or just a con-man who makes more in a week than you do a month because he has perfected the art of begging? There was an expose' a couple years ago where the local news channel followed a "beggin bum" for a day with hidden camers and at around 9 or 10pm he finally left and they followed him 10 blocks to a late model BMW and then to a luxery loft in LODO (lower downtown Denver) where the rent is averaging 3500 per month.

It's hard to tell the real deal from the fakes.

There is actually a joke about scamming pan handlers icant remeber it exactly but i will give her a try. Two mexican con men were panhandlig around the same area. One guy wasnt doing so well and the other was raking in the cash. This went on for quite while the one guy was making hardly any money while the other guy had cars stopping almost non stop. So he had enough and finally went over and asked what he was doing to make so much money. He said look at your sign it says hungry and homeless need some money. So he said whats wrong with that what does your sign say and he showed him and it said Strandeed it the US and I need $10 dollars to get back to Mexico

BEIJING (AP) - A toddler who was twice run over by vans and then ignored by passers-by on a busy market street died Friday a week after the accident and after days of bitter soul-searching over declining morality in China.

The Guangzhou Military District General Hospital said that the 2-year-old girl, Wang Yue, died of brain and organ failure. "Her injuries were too severe and the treatment had no effect," intensive care unit director Su Lei told reporters.

The plight of the child, nicknamed Yueyue, came to symbolize what many Chinese see as a decay in public morals after heady decades of economic growth and rising prosperity.

Gruesome closed-circuit camera video of last Thursday's accident, aired on television and posted on the Internet, showed Yueyue toddling along the hardware market street in the southern city of Foshan. A van strikes her, slows and then resumes driving, rolling its back right wheel over the child. Over the next seven minutes, as she lay with blood pooling, 18 people walk or cycle by and another van strikes her before a scrap picker scoops her up as the girl's mother rushes into the street looking for her.

State media said the girl's father was tending the family's hardware shop at the time of the accident and her mother was busy hanging laundry. Both failed to notice she had wandered outside.

Yueyue's death touched off another round of hand-wringing about society and personal responsibility. Many comments posted to social media sites said "we are all passers-by."

Communist Party chief of wealthy Guangdong province, Wang Yang, has called the accident "a wake-up call for everybody."

Li Xiangping, a professor of religion at Huadong University, said on a Twitter-like service that it is too easy to blame others. "What after all prompted such a sad phenomenon? Officials? The rich? Or is it our own cold-heartedness?" Li said on Sina Corp.'s Weibo.

Police have detained the drivers of both vans on suspicion of causing a traffic accident but have not said what formal charges they would face and if manslaughter would be among them now that the girl has died.

The people who could be seen on the video passing by the injured Yueyue have recounted being harassed for ignoring her. The respected Southern Metropolis Daily newspaper quoted a man it identified only as a hardware merchant Mr. Chen as saying that he had been receiving crank calls ever since someone picked him out as the 16th passer-by. He said he hadn't noticed the child.

Some experts said an unwillingness to help others is an outgrowth of urbanization as migrants pour into cities and create neighborhoods of strangers.

"Rapid urbanization not only affects China or Foshan, but anywhere in the world where you have a lot of high-rise buildings, where there is high population density, then the relationship with the neighbors, and with each other is affected," said Yao Yue, a psychologist and director of telephone help-line for distressed people in Beijing.

Well no you may not always know. But then again you don't have to always give cash. Food and conversation go a long ways.

BEIJING – Police formally arrested two drivers suspected of running over a toddler who died a week after she was struck on a busy market street in southern China and was ignored by passers-by, newspapers reported Sunday.

The Beijing News and other outlets said Sunday police in the city of Foshan concluded their initial investigation and ordered the two men formally arrested, a step that almost always leads to a trial.

It did not say what they were being charged with and calls to Foshan police were unanswered.

The death of 2-year-old Wang Yue gained widespread coverage in the Chinese media and prompted soul-searching over declining morality and callousness toward the sufferings of others.

The accident on Oct. 13 was captured by gruesome security camera footage, leading to police identifying the vehicles.

For seven minutes after the first van struck the girl, 18 people walked or cycled by the bleeding toddler before a scrap picker scoops her up and takes her to her mother, who rushes into the street looking for her.
