My front shocks are upside down???

I just noticed my front shocks are upside down on my new 154 XP compared to my buddies which is the same sled. Looks weird and the adjustment ring is tough to get at.

Anyone else have that on theirs?

All of my Ski-Doo's going back to 1997 have been inverted shocks. Tom Dines, of Tom's Snowmobile,(check issue of SLEDHEADS 11-07) in California, the exclusive Ski-Doo FOX shock dealer, has set them up that way for years. The understanding that I have which is not nearly as much as the others in this forum, is to help reduce ice build up and a quicker response of the shock versus the spring. But, I am sure others will answer your question better then I can.

Thanks, I think I understand that line of reasoning, I am still wondering why two sleds, same model, are different. Mix up on the assembly line?

Did both sleds come from the same dealer??

Motorcycles have also been doing it like this for years.

It is less weight(enirtia) to move up and down as the main shock is hanging from the chassis--not resting on the a-arm--thus the a-arm can react faster to the bumps. But it must also be a gas shock--hydraulic shocks will not work upside down.

H20SKE...

Oh, That is odd? Seems to work well on my 07 XRS as well as my 04 Rev with inverted Fox zero pro's. That was set up by Tom Dines. Help me out maybe I need to flip mine?
