I've been staying out of this for the most part. I can't say I agree with the Max thread but I'm not going to post against it. I don't see what the problem is right now since it was just moved, it's still here and can be carried on. I will add that I really don't get the post count thing and why it is so important to people. I don't want to agree totally with Duner but I agree with him that post count doesn't mean anything. I think that there are alot of ways that makes a person a good person, and just saying something, good or bad, and clicking on "submit reply" doesn't make a person anything but, able to click. Bad people can click as well, just my opinion.
Was there bad stuff on there?

I remember posting a few times in FP back when it showed....I've been there too. LOL. BUT I think I've kept a HIGH % of my posts sledding related.

Its time to let it go.... by both the people who dislike the thread and those who liked it.
Everybody got out of it what wanted be it good or bad. Some understand, some don't. But either way you want to look at it and form a positive or negative opinion, doesn't make it right.
If people want to waste their time posting in a thread, what harm is there to others? The harm came from the attacks on the people posting their and the retaliations back at the attackers. MOB mentality took over just as once the attack was made, more and more people made their opinions heard by joining in.
Since I am assuming that most ppl here have a job, and I know all the PWs did, it's safe to say that people posting in the max thread wasn't costing tax payers money. I did it at work because well, I needed something to kill time with. Watching rigs ain't that exciting. So in the end, you need to differenciate between hating the thread or hating the people who were doing it.
Honestly, if you hate the thread..... then you may have issues. There are threads posted here everyday that are in others eyes just as annoying. But as long as the thread falls within the guidelines, there is nothing you can do about it but complain. Ultimatly... there are people who have just cause to be upset with the people involved with the max thread. People that stated an opinion and ended up getiing harrassed publicly or pm'd or nasty messages on their rep board. This I do not agree with. But it came full circle and many that disliked the thread or the people in it responded in the same manner.
In the end.... the thread has moved out of FP down to the trash bin and the PW's moved to a different site. Life at snowest back to normal.

So true. With threads like that - its no wonder some people think that this site is a complete waste.
If you want to post whore, talk smack and bullsh!t all day, start your own thread on your own website and stop complaining about the FREE one that Snowest provides.
As for Ace's comment on the # of posts someone has in regards to their trust level - who would you rather buy from/sell to: Someone with 100 great posts or someone with 10,000 idiotic smack talk replies.......post count means nothing.
A lot of people did not carry over their status from the old site (myself included) so your best bet is to search the forums for their name and see what kinds of threads they post in and what kind of posts they leave (you can tell a lot about a person from their posts). Guys that are willing to help out and give advice or try and answer someones questions are probably more "trustable" than those guys that just beak off and talk smack in every thread.
I'm with IMSICK though, time to let it go, you all had a good run on that thread, but let it die with dignity.

I looked at it once and saw three pages of one word posts.....never went back....
As for my comment on "10,000 idiotic smack talking posts" - it wasn't in relation to that thread,in particular, it was in regards to the correlation of ability to trust a person and their post count - which has no correlation.

The Spokane thread in riding areas has been going since 2002 and has had about 35-36,000 posts.....Its a tight groop like what you guys claim you had but the topic is sleddin 90% of the time and there is hardly a day goes by that pics arnt added....quality posts for the most part....when the Artic Duck isnt running his quacker...lol
You can have a thread like that if you do it right...having a 4m family is a good thing...just remember this is a family snowmobiling site and your good ta go
