he bought the sled 3 months ago as a hold over and it is the 800 stock nothing tricked and his f****n clutch blew to hell and hes trying to get polaris to fix the crank to. any body else have this happen once again he was looking at a new 2011 but dought it.

What exactly "blew to hell" on the clutch? Do you think the crank isn't true? Polaris should do whatever it takes to make it perfect.

Gotta fix it one step at a time, clutch first and check the phase. They just don't replace the crank just because one wants it to be changed.

A clutch that self destructed is likely pointing to something else wrong. The problem is that when the clutch went it likely caused a problem internally.
I doubt any dealer is going to check for or find it. The ring land for the crank locating ring is only about an 1/8" thick. Too much side force or case twist and it can snap the edges. Mine was broke off with just a blown belt.
You won't believe how much smoother these things run with a professional crank truing and clutch balancing. Give IndyDan a call.
What Polaris should do and will do have proven to be two completely different things. There have been a few people on here who have broken clutches so there may have been some poor castings.

the whole cluth blew up and he finally got polaris to put a new crank in it he is back riding it. hopefully it dont happen again.

freak deal, but i was going to say if polaris doesnt cover it you need to find a new dealer. on new machines 99% of failed warranty claims are the dealers fault. it is all on how the case is presented to polaris. if the machine is under full warranty and is completely stock when presented properly polaris will cover everything 99% of the time, you just have to make sure your dealer has half of a brain and knows what they are talking about

I agree. It seems to me that as a dealer you want Polaris to cover this stuff because you make the money on the warranty claim. I do know that Polaris has had some issues with dealers and claims though. In any case, the customer shouldn't face that burden.
