I am probubly going ot be a new assault ownder very soon. From what i can gather, polaris was WAY off in the socks. If it were me i would take those walkers in and get them revalved.
I will be puting fox EVOL X shocks on my sled so i don't realy care how stiff the shocks are.
Have you thought about puting an aftermarket control box on it to help with the mid range and lean out the top end? Ohh and you could get a sled with a SLP pipe from the factory so....i don't buy the "pull your pipe off everytime your deeler sees your sled idea"
I missed your reply some how.
Honestly if you are going to pop Evol X's on right away I would just buy a D8. I might think about getting the WE re-valved at some point but I am going to try a few other things first.
And yes I have considered getting a PCV. I am going to update shortly and see how it runs. Right now without the update it runs great.
The other night I spent some time setting my toe in/toe out and camber on the front end. The skis were actually both pointed in, so I adjusted them to both point out a touch (per Polaris Specs). My camber was also all the way in the negative position (100% all the way IN!!!) Since I didn't have a Polaris camber setting bar I just set them to what looked like the Nutral position with the skis straight ahead.
I also turned down all of my shocks. I do agree that I think all of these shocks are too stiff. I set my block on the lowest setting, with that done I couldn't get within specs per Polaris for the kind of sag I should have. They say to measure the rear bumper with no one on it, pulled all the way up and let the sled settle on it's own. Then they want you to get on it, jump up and down and have someone else measure the bumper. I think it is supposed to be around 6 inches of sag. I was at like 3 inches of sag. I will get to this later.
I also set my limiter strap to the highest hole. It was on the lowest hole.
I am headed to Grand Mesa on Sunday to ride Monday, possibly Saturday night, ride Sunday. They have a lot of snow so I should be able to tell.
I talked with a somewhat local guy who has a softer spring for the rear suspension. I think it came from a Dragon, I am eventually going to try that for the deap snow, I can always go back to my heavy spring in the spring.
Time will tell.
If these moves don't do anything my next step will probably be to look at a different track. Hoping I can find a 155 5.1 for cheap.
