My 10 year old son said "Obama is going to..."

So my son comes home from his last day in school for the year and I asked him how it was. He said the usual cleaned my locker etc. etc. and then he says "oh and we wont have to pay as much for food this summer" I was like WTF??? he then went on to tell me how his teacher said Obama is going to make food cheaper and health care so we will all have more money. You have no idea how  I got thinking about some liberal teacher pushing there b/s onto my kid. So I told him that he can work all summer mowing yard and cleaning the house for his older brother because his brother felt like he didnt have to work that hard anymore. Of course Dylan didnt like that idea much. He said "that hardly seems fair" and I explained it to him. It still just fuels my fire though that these schools can push there personal agenda!! I guess I could always pay for private school if I dont like it.....and get no credit on my property tax of course that is a whole other issue.

Sounds like the education system here. Right full of know-nothing liberals that went into education because of the slack hours.

There are exceptions, but they get overshadowed by the rest of the deadweight.

Pops always told me: "Those that can- Do. Those that can't- teach." Like you said, there are the exceptions.

Who taught you to tie your shows... or to crap on a toilet? Or to read or to write, or to do math?

Just curious...

I learned by doing!!!

I would however like to thank all the teachers for my high property taxes.

someone has to support them as it would be quite difficult for them to make it out here in the real world!!!!!

my buddy teaches high school in alberta. they had one of those motivational/anti-bullying groups come and do a presentation for the whole school one time!!!!! afterwards when they got back to class, he said he had to de-program them all from that crap!!!!!!!!!! being told that they are ALL special and can be absolutely ANYTHING they want to be!!!!!!!!! he told them it was all crap!!!!!!!! if EVERYONE was special, then EVERYONE was the same, and thus none were special!!!!!!!!!!

Get out of Lincoln Himark, we don't all teach like that. But, I do know exactly what you mean. I teach with one of these clueless idiots. So far, I think we have all the kids thinking he is a tool, so no one listens to him.

I think my wife is awesome every time a student stands up for Odumbass she nails them with (what your future holds) speech. and what Ojackass has done lately

Half the time I'm reading fouled plug shes reading over my shoulder!

If you think thats bad wait till he gets in college!!

It's not the school, it's the individual.
Yeah, there are liberals...everywhere in every profession. Please don't generalize ALL teachers..

i'm a fan of homeschool, but the stats don't lie... the majority of homeschool kids aren't up to par when it comes to test scores and etc for college acceptance... if you are truly a competent home schooler then bravo, but most are fooling themselves... not to mention they often lag behind with interpersonal relationships... if you don't like public school you GOTTA go with private school otherwise you are short changing your child... facts are facts...

Care to divulge your source?

The majority of home schooled children out perform public schooled.

Fact are facts.
To say they lag behind in "interpersonal" relationships is out right BS. Maybe the ones raised in a compound like Waco have issues? Regular family raised kids have no problems that I have seen. More than ample interaction with their peers if done right.

i did a lot of digging around about it because of my daughter, she has down syndrome and we didn't want to subject her to the ridicule that is public schools... i have several neighbors who homeschool and their kids are WOEFULLY behind compared to my oldest boy who is 3 yrs younger than they are... I went thru this search about 5 yrs ago so I don't have all my sources handy...

edit - and based on the website you list I wouldn't expect anything less as it is a homeschool site, of course they are going to prop up homeschools...

Confront the the powers in a professional manner. Letter would probably be best. Send it to the teacher school board members etc. I am working on my teaching degree and have coached for a few years and know that is a huge no no in the districts. Especially with younger kids. jh and hs teachers have a little more leeway b/c the students are supposed to be creating their own opinions. But the younger ones the teacher can get in deep. And that being said I sincerely disagree with students knowing the political views of teachers at any age. Let the students make free minded decisions rather than biased to either side because of a teacher. As a teacher the should know and respect that many students look up to and respect them in many ways and a lot of times are much more likely to listen to them over their parents in situations. That being said your child's teacher was very out of line. And you as a parent have the responsibility to stand up for what you know you should before he/she runs their mouth inappropriately.

And I do hope and believe that many of you are wrong about the education system. Yes it has some terrible things but the majority of you probably went to public schools and owe alot to those teachers. Someone whined about teachers being the reason for high property taxes. That's not true yes the money goes to ed system but the majority is eaten up by the higher echelon of admins. the wonderful NCLB( No child left behind ) helped with that and added more politicians in which we all know is always a lose lose situation. There needs to be accountability for teachers and students but standardized testing to put all students on the same level isn't fair. Schools with high numbers of special ed are hurt by that in their overall scores. That's BS we need students to excel not be held back to make the playing field even. We need to explore real world training and tech training in the schools rather than the solely college prep which we are moving towards. It isolates students and isn't for everyone. If a students wants to be a mechanic we need to have the Auto classes for them not tell them they are dumb so many times they just don't give an f anymore. but I could go on for days the short of it is people have to start standing up quit being chicken ****s and do something when you see something that has gone as awry as the education system in this country. If we don't our medical system will be a twin sister in ten years with the same issues. Too many politicians. Everyone askin g why no one is accountable and working hardest to make sure the blame never comes back to them
