My 05 800 Rev just quit

A while ago the battery shorted out and died, so I changed the Batt and the starter solenoid was gone, so that was replaced as well, so this is the first time out on the sled and after a day of riding , it all of a sudden quit and now it won't start, it's like the battery is dead, but it won't even pull start. Just before it quit the gauges started acting up, then it just died. Any suggestions?

Check the relay and fuse under left side console

So I got it running, but the speedo jumps all over the place and it's not charging. I'm thinking the reg / rec is not doing it's job, when I rev up the motor, the lights dim.

Did you swap out the relay? Common issue of speedo jumping is the relay bad.
