Muff Pot / Cookers

When are you guys putting food in the cookers? Just got one.. For instance something stupid like frozen hot pocket or something like that? Do you put it in the morning when leaving and its ready to eat at lunch? I know it depends on riding style to a point, but what about for somebody that is a moderate rider, gets stuck, sled on an off several times an hour?

My hot-dogger is mounted on the pipe right in front of the Y-pipe.

I typically have frozen burritos in it and they need about 1.5-2 hours. If I have left overs that are simply pulled from the fridge I like to keep it to 45-60 minutes.

Left overs work well if meat is cut into bite size pieces and using a large piece of parchment paper in the bottom, then wrap over the meal, snap the lid on. I keep plastic forks in my bag.

I have my muff pot mounted on top of my can right where it meets the pipe. I have seen others mount them on the pipe right after the Y pipe. I put frozen hot pockets in there first thing and leave them till lunch. So sometimes about 2 or 3 hours of riding. That is with a lot of stopping. I wrap the hot pockets in parchment paper then foil around the outside of the paper. One my my Buddies had some cook chicken fingers and potato wedges from the store the other day and it kept them nice and warm. Also seen people do things like little smokies and they will put them in the oven bags.

I have a Sled Shed Cooker can on one sled, and a generic muffpot strapped to the pipe just before the can on the other. The Sled Shed can can fully cook a frozen burrito in half an hour if you are riding hard. The muffpot on the pipe needs to have food put into it in the morning and ride until lunch. And preferably precooked, not frozen. So big difference in temperatures. You really need to experiment.
