Mtntk 10# vs low boost 5-7# kit.

Anyone have any ride time on both high and low boost sleds?
Any info you can give on either?
I Ride 90% trees so wondering about bottom end which is better setup.
Bottom end response is more important to me then top end chute pulling power.

Thinking the low boost will be better down low cause you’d be running lower clutch weights so the NA portion of rpm be stronger? Or am I missing something.
 
Been running Mtntk for the last 2 years. So i guess i have some experience.

Well what do you consider high boost? I cranked it up to 12psi at occasions but its just unrideable at most. Normally run 7-8psi and sometimes down to 5psi.

It all depends on the terrain. If its really technical with lots of trees. Then id like to tune it down abit. Makes it a tad more easy to handle and maneuver around with.

To cool, I’ve watched most of your vids. Really Like your riding.
I Am working on riding similar terrain as you.
2000ft to 6000ft elevation.
I picked up a lightly used 2018 with mtntk kit running 10#s
It’s a 163 with a stock Polaris belt drive. Track and drivers swapped to avids and a camso X3.
Have had it out two days and it’s a blast in more open areas.
It’s just such a rocket it’s laughable going through tight stuff.
There’s no way I can think fast enough to handle the instant speed.
Have more brake on then throttle.

That being said I’m contemplating turning boost down to 6-7psi to make it a bit more usable when in the trees.

Just wanted to hear from someone such as yourself if there is value in turning boost down to ride more technical terrain.

Also looking for setup for the lower boost:

How much boost and
Gearing
Primary spring
Secondary spring
Helix
Clutch weight (which weights)
Fuel mix

Boost: 6-7psi @ sealvl -> 3000f, at 2-6000 feet i guess you are looking at 7-8psi
Gearing: I mainly run 2.25 during powder season and when its spring riding and im about to do some hillclimbing i gear it up to 2.1.
Clutch Kit: Indy dan turbo clutch kit
Fuel mix: Straight pumpgas with highest octane. If needed then add a couple of liters into the mix of 100LL. I usually never run more then 5-10% of 100LL in my tank. Even tho i ride sealvl.
