Mt.Dew vs Diesel fuel

I just paid more for a 16oz bottle of Mt. Dew then I did for a gallon of Diesel fuel. Sounds like Pepsi is doing some different things and raised the price on their products, doesn't sound like Coke will follow.

It did allow me to let the station owner know that I drove 30 miles to fill up my pickup..... She told me the price of the pop and I said, "wow, a bottle of pop is now MORE than a gallon of diesel", she says "not quite" and looks at the sign and that's when I got to get in the jab about fuel being .45 cheaper 30 miles away.

I tried to cut down on soda last year when the prices in the vending machines went up 25 cents. I slowed down for a while, but by March or April of last year I was still swigging a ton of soda at home and at work.

I'm in a weight loss contest, and one of the things I did was cut out the soda. Iced tea is my new best friend, but so far I've been able to hold off - I haven't had a soda since the first week of Jan...... Hopefully I can keep it up, it's nice to have the extra cash in my wallet instead of the vending machines, it's not a lot of money but it adds up (just like any other 'habit' I guess)

I found it very interesting that the vending machines in front of the grocery store used to sell the 16oz bottles of soda for less than inside the store. Never could figure out why that was going on (this was the case about 18-24 months ago at the King Soopers we shop at north of Denver).

jsledder Its crazy to think that a year ago how many people would have thought that diesel would come down that much!

TMK50 The mt dew is like crack though!! I will go through fazes where I will not have any soda for months then one hit of mtn dew im off the wagon again stay away so many empty calories and you cant get drunk on it

The Dew was 1.89/16oz and the Diesel was 1.77/gal.

That's $14.96/gal for Dew.

On the flip side, I was in Phoenix last week and the cheapest I paid for a Bud light was $5.00/16oz bottle.

LMAO - good stuff!!

That's kind of like Dumb and Dumber, laugh every time I see it.
