I know everyone is very protective of their favorite riding areas as is evidenced by most people just saying "Mt. Baker" vs. the name of the area where they ride or stage. Unfortunately, it is a huge area that appears to have riding opportunities 360 degrees around it and I'm having a hard time tracking down good beta on it. I've found the Washington site that lists some staging area names, but that isn't really helping me with much more than that --- names...
I get that people want to be protective of their favorite areas, especially in a public forum, but I was hoping to grovel a little here and ask if there is anyone on the forum that would be willing to send me a private message with some recommendations on staging area names, road names/numbers, etc. along with some insight on preferred ones, ones to avoid due to crowds, snow conditions, dangers, roads, parking, etc.
I have a couple of friends that ride snow bikes with me and we are looking to make a road trip up that way for some riding. None of us is familiar with the area or best riding options. We normally ride in Central Oregon and I would say we are advanced riders, but far from experts.
Lastly, are there any places up that way for lodging (hotels, cabins, VRBO, etc.) that someone can suggest that would allow for riding from the facility or at least a short drive in with a trailer?
I can offer the same kind of information in exchange for anyone looking to do some riding in Oregon...
Thanks,
Ken
