Wow! awesome pics!

How far did you guys have to ride on dirt to get to the snow?

Ride dirt??? Oh yeeeeaaaahhhhh....I vaguely remember riding dirt. :p The snow was just sooooooo memorable that it practically erased the dirt memory entirely. :D I mean really - with snow like that at the end of May, under nothing but sunny, blue skies - who CARES how much dirt ya gotta ride. ;)

YES? :) Yup I'll be over there in a few weeks! :beer;

Jimmy, glad to hear you are on the mend!! YAY!! Can't wait for Turkey Day! :)

Motley, it was probably 1/2 mile with patches. Carbides on gravel/ rock is one of the worst sounds I've ever heard in my life! :face-icon-small-dis

Tip for next year: run the plain steel runners in the spring. They don't catch and squeal on the rocks nearly as bad, and are CHEAP!. When the snow gets gets better, swap your carbides back in. :D:D:D

Buddy went through his carbide and keel of his skiis. Ended up costing a bit to get new skiis on his ride. If you ride baker enough during the spring, steel runners will be toast. I toasted a new set last spring and I know run duallys with a bunch of carbide so I have twice as much metal to go through before I ruin my skis. Baker can have up to a mile (at least it seems like it) of gravel during the spring. It all depends upon where you can park.

Whoops on gravel are interesting if nothing else.

Great pics guys. Looks like fun was had by all. Not much better then spring slush at Baker!! That place is awesome!

Do what I do, run home made runners made from rebar. Works great and it's REALLY cheap. I run them all year. We live in washington people, I mean really, we either have slush, mashed taters, cascade concrete or mad pow! Carbides are for ice....

:D

Thanks Mike, I'm trying. It's tough not riding this time of year, there's nothing better then camping, with great friends and riding in the sunshine.

I was actually thinking that this party is missing a Mike and Lisa, you guys should plan on coming over next year. Your welcome to stay at our place in between camping.

I'll be more then ready for Thanksgiving. Can't wait..........

Cool idea!

I just keep a few sets of the cheapie mild steel ones around, they're like $13 a pair, and just change them as needed. They wear quickly but oh well.
