Mt. Baker info please

My nephew and I are gonna take a sledding trip to Baker and spend a few nights. I've never ridden Mt Baker so I'd like to know what town should we stay in that's fairly close. We don't require a 4 star inn but good eats and cable are a must. Also looking for general directions to the riding area's? Thanks

if your going to ride Schriber's meadows which is the Mountain (Easton Glacier) you would probably stay in Mt Vernon or Burlington. There would be places there to stay. As far as the riding there its great, just dont assume that if you ride up a hill that it could be flat on top. My buddies took me up there for the first time and I went to the right up the hill, but didnt follow them through the slot at the top (why would I do that ??). I went 10' to the right of it and even though I slowed down at the top edge - - - HOLY @%$# man does that other side drop fast.
