Mt.Baker Area

My son and riding partner is going to college at Western in Bellingham.
He has no classes this Thursday and the weather is forecast to be good, I thought I might pull the sleds up there and go riding with him.
We have never ridden in the area before and I thought I would post to see what is suggested. With all the funding running out for snow removal I want to make sure there is an open snow park. We normally boondock, but with the lack of recent snow we will probably stick to the trails. A nice loop ride with some good views of the mountain would be great. I see Shrieber Meadows, Glaicer Creek and Canyon Creek are all options at Baker or
Finney Creek south of there is also an option. Any and all comments are appreciated.
Thanks.

I loved riding up at Mt. Baker Schriebers Meadow

Ask the guys about the Falls past Schriebers Meadows when we were up there two weeks ago I saw 3 people go over them and one person was airlifted. I had never been up there and it's nice because it's really open and you can easily see everyone so if your son is younger it would be a very nice advantage for safety reassons. I was just blown away by the place.

Just a notch below heaven.

If you are new to the area go to Baker. Schribers(spelling??) Meadow is great for a nice day. Easy parking and always people there to hook up with. Also it is not a far drive from WWU.

Has they still been plowing the snow park or are they out of funds like some of the other areas?

Parking is great thanks to the northwest glacier cruisers and the hard work they did to plow the road and parking. Feel free to donate any amount to help them pay for the fuel it took to get it done. Check with "theprez" on here for contact info.

My suggestion is also schriebers, if it's clear it doesn't get much better until you go north of the boarder...

Yeah baker is the best. Mr. Prez (my dad) is a good guy to contact is he doesnt get back to you right away he is busy and doesnt spend a ton of time on here you can contact me.
