Rode out of Lone Butte today. Went up to the intersection to the berry fields and went right. Rode around the more open areas, on the ride side of the road, and then went back to the left of the intersection and rode the road.

Is there anywhere, or way to get up on the base of Adams?

Or do people just play around off the roads??

Battle Ground, i come up through Eagles Nest.

Most people will access the mountain itself, from either Snowking or Smith Butte Snoparks. Smith Butte access may be closed but it usually does not close until they get a lot of snow. Heading north from Hood River to Trout Lake, you take a right at the intersection in Trout Lake. Then just keep on following the main road until you pass Pineside Snopark on the right, and SnowKing on the left. Smith Butte is about 3 miles beyond Snowking, and is just a T intersection with no actual parking lot. Then you just follow everyone else. Some will head up to Bird Lake area by keeping on the main road. Some will take the first left after Smith Butte and work their way up the lava field until they hit the Wilderness boundary orange poles. Then they go right at the poles and follow them across the mountain.

Adams snow

Anyone been up adams since Monday or any time since the last "snow fall"? Hoping it's possible to get up in elevation for some spring riding.

On Sunday, was able to drive the truck and trailer from Lone Butte down the 8851 to the Big Tire and on to Flattop. The only snow left was where sleds had packed it down.

Elevation is your friend for sure.

I rode Monday past smith butte Sno park. We drove to the gate (4800' ish) and unloaded on dirt wasn't far till snow but still hate doing that, espesily in February. On a positive note there was no whooped out trails to ride and on the Mt. much quicker. If you find a road to get up in elevation still a lot of fun to be had.

Went up again on Saturday there was around 10 inches of new snow up higher. The wind blew it around on Friday so it was deep in some spots and hard in others. The trail was mostly covered we unloaded in 6", lil above smith butte sno park. There was no dry patchs on way up, but coming back to the truck there was some short patches that had been in the sun all day. It was one of the better riding days Iv had this year. I would guess it would be few 100-250 yard dashes of dry road by now. The south climb access road gets you up higher but was closed on sat(logging?). Not sure when that will be reopened, but that would be best bet to get to the snow.
