Moving froma 153 to a 174 track

if thats what you like and think you want longer go with a 162 PC, the PC gets you moving faster. Personally I would rather have a 153 for that kind of riding unless it is bottomless dry powder but would not go for a 174, the PC is lighter and keeps you on top the snow. What would you be putting it on. and from what I've been told putting a bigger wheel on then the drivers defeats the purpose(not sure).

I have gone from a 159x15 to a 174x16. It is a big leap and has its ups and downs. Plus side is great floatation which lets you go slow in the deep,bad side is it is tougher to turn. I am 230 plus so pulling my sled around isn't a problem. You woun't get stuck as often but when you do pull your shovel out cause you will need it. I did it to make up fo less power than the sleds I was with. With all of that said, I have gone to a 162 and turbo. I had mine on a 900 Cat, it would climb great.
Get used to disappointment.
A 174 that's making under 350 hp would be the most boring thing to ride.
Is sledding THAT hard that we need to put some obnoxious track on them so we never get stuck? Instead, work on becoming a better rider & you won't need the long track.

ive got one m1000 174 but ive also got a 162 and 2 151s havent rode the 174 but im sure it will have its own place on the hill actually looking forward to it if you have another sled go for it

Whatever floats your boat. All I know is I've gone to shorter tracks over the years as I've gotten to be a better rider, and would never consider even a 162 again. Currently I ride 153's and never look back. The longer tracks stay in the trailer.

Easy now, I bet that M7 that niner rides hits a whopping 12.75 mph. And his buddy obviously can't ride if he can't walk away from a M7 throwing an extra 12 lbs of track with too much traction for it's HP to be able to hold a decent track speed.
yawn, now THAT's boring..
well i have a 141...that makes me an expert...lol...actually though the 141 is all right in our parts...we were all 121 guys...then 136...now a 151 seems the extreme...the doo guys like the 144...but our snow is condusive to our shorter track lengths except for approx 3 weeks per season..but the shorter tracks makes a person not necessarily a better rider...but often a smarter rider...which leaves me stuck alot..lol..
you would go back to a 162 if you road in the dry pow we get it MT WY and CO
