Mounting sly dog skis

I feel like an idiot, but I'm having problems mounting my new sly dog skis. I understand how to do it, but I can't get the spindle to go past the two washers mounted on the inside of the ski... Is it safe to try and spread it apart without hurting the ski? Any tricks?

they fit tight!! we had to pry to put a set on. you won't break them.

It is possible you have the wrong bushings as they are different dimensions for different brand sleds.

Awesome, it didn't take very much prying but I got them on! Now, if only the weekend would come sooner so I could go ride!!!
