Mountain Viper Mods.

I rode a buddy's 835 - holy chit was that thing FUN!! The numbers as I remember correctly were terribly inflated by Bender but that thing flat out got with it. Not much could touch it.

I ran the 835 fully case ported with big carbs in a LIGHT viper was a BLAST add the 45 hp shot and WWOOOWW!!! easily aroung 185-190 hp without nos no sweat with much bigger motors(price 1000) much like the shootout results in AM=snow in 03 or 04( gave the mag to the guy who bought mine:D

the 835 will cost you some coin, around 2,500 to 3,000 depending on porting. Lots of money for a old sled but it does rock. My backup sled now (or the kids) sled is a srx. its a 835 with stock pipes, reeds and spacers, clutch, scilencer, 144 by 1 3/4 track some light wieght crap in susp.(mpi) and drop it down and back to help out the track angle. but besides the engine the best thing I did was shocks. Works has a bad azz set for around 1,000 for all four. sled sits higher, and can take a beating. But its still a good sled hands down!!:beer;:beer;:D:D:beer;

MNT Viper Mods

I bought a mint 2004 MNT Viper with mods in September. Simmons Pipes, flo-rites, ram air opened up, boysen reeds, Peak Head with machined domes to match motor porting by Lowell Horning and pistons machined and balanced to match the porting done by Lowell. The machine had NOS but I got the guy to take it off as I did not want it, but the sled rocked with it. I had the guy put the ATTC system back on. The sled has a 2"x156" ported track. HAs more but cant remember.

Since I got it, I had the pipes ceramic coated, Polaris primary (custom setup by Tom Hartman), Shockwave Secondary, Ohlin shock in the far rear, had the coil spring powder coated liquid silver metallic instead of the yellow, and some other bling-bling.

Looking to lighten up with new suspension up front (lw trailing arms & rr/tr) and new rear next year (either an m-10w2 or maybe try an Easyryde). New billet wheels in the 8" with the Freedom Axle from Mountain Machines also is going to be on.

I may chance out the stock handlebars to a MNT APEX one- I like the wider bar and factory mnt bar.
