mountain riding?

i am going out to island park idaho in feb for a week anyone have any reccomendations to do for the higher altitude? i was thinking about putting a new head on it for that altitude would it make that much of a difference?

i feel stupid asking but what is the dpm? i am very mechinacily inclined i know my old 583's like the back of my hand, i was talking to the dealer he said for the clutching to put my high altitude spring and weights back in it and play with the clickers and keep it around 8100 to 8200 thats where the peak hp is. i know i am going to loose hp cause of the altitude change would a high compression head make a noticable difference?

i.p.

talk to the dealer in island park.pretty good at clutch set up,friendly and helpful..i think the doo dealer is called island park adventures or adventure 2...bought a 06 doo from them a few years ago and they treated me pretty good..just my thoughts...have fun..

depending where the sled is coming from it should be good to go. as stated before, talk to the folks in island park if you have questions. tough to find a better dealer, i'm from MN and bought my sled somewhere else, they helped me out no questions. needless to say i know where my next mountain sled will be coming from.

The mechanic at IP Adventures is the best around. I would give them a call a week or so before you go to setup a time to have your clutch dailed in. Other than that your sled will rip.

I recommend cluching and gearing. Forget the head. (High comp. snowmobile head that is.) Contact Island Adventure or ??? for the correct set up and you should be golden!
