Mountain max 700 jettting question

My bud has a 97 700. The sled idles but has a bog just before wot. I think he needs to lift the needle. Any input on this from anyone would be appreciated. And how do you lift the needle on it? We see the bar that runs through all 3 tops of the carbs. Is there a easy way to do the needle lift? Thanks Erik

The answer is there is no real easy way. It is not to bad though. Take the screws out that go into the bar. Take a 2.5 mm allen head with a round wobble on one end and screw out the two allens. Once they are loose take and carefully lift them out and roll over the lift mechanism. Then you can reach down and pull out the slide. Make sure your nylon spacers (two per slide) did not stick to the top of the aluminum piece that the screws go thru. These are used for fine tuning the needle height. If they have not been out of machine for a long time make sure that the groove in the needle is not wore out.
