The economy has been real ruff on the power sports business and after long hard decision we have decided that we can no longer keep doing it. The 4 wheeler and UTV market is forcing us to close the arctic dealer ship. To many units not selling interest is killing us and cat wont take them back unless we close our accounts. We have seen so many dealer do this in our area that it is sad 12 that I can count between Mountain Home ID and Heber city UT. Don't worry Cat is replacing us as fast as we close it seams new box store added monthly. We will truly miss the dealer ship as we have made many life time friend in the short time we have had the dealership. Thanks for all of the support to our many customers.

Sorry to hear this, our local dealer is having the same problems. The economy sucks.
 
Real sorry to hear this. What's even worse is now cat will sell off all your inventory to renegade for less than you paid for it so they can whore out the market even more.
 
So sad to hear this, you guys rock...

Time after time I hear how crappy Cat treats their dealers. What do they expect when they let Bass Pro & Gander carry their ATV's. Pretty soon it will be Walmart.

sorry to hear of you closing your doors, Im up here in the north and have never been to your dealer, however you have been a big help in the technical dept over the many years here on Snowest.
Classic story of a manufacturer going big, large corporations are heartless, bottom line is the all mighty dollar.
Im a Cat guy, however makes me want to change brands when I hear how Cat treats their dealers in trouble, however its no different with any other brand.
I have bought a new machine every year for quite a few years, I have never been back for any warranty work for any of them, I just fix them myself due to the box dealers that dont have a clue!

second that... and remember things change all the time , its never as bad as one thinks and its never as good as one thinks.. do not rule out that u may be back in bznz again as a cat dealer .... this is the time to be optimistic and also to realize bznz is bznz . u will be fine and things will work out the way there suppose too..

Hopefully someone at A/C is reading this and listens to there customers. I live 35 min from MMSPORTS and chose to drive there for the following reason. 1. Top notch treatment from a customers standpoint. 2. Fair pricing on new units and parts and service. 3. Kevins willingness to always make sure as a customer that i was always taken care of regardless of how big or small my problem was. 4 Availability of parts, I have never had to have them order anything for me they always had what i needed in stock. There is a box store dealer not more than 3 min from my house but i have always made the drive because i knew that i would be treated like a customer should when i walked threw the door. I have bought a new arctic cat sled every year since 2004 and have been very brand loyal. For the future i dont know what i am going to do for dealer support. Probably order parts online from somewhere and as far as warranty i will probaly drive 45 min south to another A/C dealer since i have no faith in the BOX STORE that is close to me. A/C if your reading this you have made a terrible mistake in this area by not helping out one of your dealers and i think you may even lose some sales from it as well. Remember the product is only one part of the equation you need good follow up for sucess. One more thing the whole BOX STORE thing. Who do you think pays for the large facility. The customer that who. You may get a good deal on the initial sale but pay down the road on parts and service. Just something to think about.
 
I live two and a half hours away from MMsports. Kevins service and reasonable pricing makes it a short drive. It amazes me that Cat doesn't realize his value in this area.

Thanks Kevin for all help the last few years, I can't count the number of times you have pulled through in a pinch to keep me or my friends on the snow.

PASSION for the sport was obvious. How rare it is to have the guy that sells the sled also ride it, tune it, and repair it.

How sad it is that Cat can't recognize the value of a small considerate dealer VS a huge megastore where you're more likely to get lost in the paperwork than recieve quick, personal service.

I live 2 days drive from mmsports, but had the pleasure of visiting Kevin's store several times this winter as I went sledding for 3 weeks near there. I had some warranty work done, and they were able to sell me the parts I needed with good pricing and extra help in servicing my sled. Our local AC dealer bit the dust this year too here in the Gorge area of the NW. The local Yamaha dealer here is very strong and had discussions with AC about picking up the sled line. However, being a Yamaha dealer he does NOT want AC's quads, they supposedly suck, plus Yamaha's quads are supposedly good. So - guess what, not gonna happen because AC has told this dealer they either take the whole line (including crappy quads) or bust. Whats up with that reasoning?
 
A sad when the big corperate "plan" hurts the little guy that actually cares about his customers and the sport. I never got the opportunity to meet Kevin in person but he sure helped me out when I needed parts and we all know the big box stores do nothing to help the individuals out. Sorry to hear about this Kevin, good luck in your next venture.

I'll sell you my General Contracting business, 40k of debt, a license I have to pay for every year, a bond that isn't worth the paper it's written on. And you can sit around your house with your thumb up your a$$ wondering what your going to do today while the media tells you the economy is on the rise.:hurt:

Take your Wife to Maui, and be glad your not trying to sell 35 2011 sleds at a loss.
 
Does anyone have the customer service number fro A/C? i think am going to call them tommorrow and tell them what i think about there newest BOX STORE in our area. I think some of the guys i ride with would probably like to call as well

its not going to do any good to call Cat it is what it is. The main part of my business was sleds and we would still be in business if it was not for the ATV and prowlers sales dieing. They are good units but they are not as necessary as the sleds. Just could not give the dam things away and yes you can not just be a snow dealer you must carry the atv and utv even though you can not even break even. Trust me I will not be the last to go. Vohk has cut his cat line down to almost nothing good thing he was able to take on the poo line on. I might have a sale for the dealer ship I have been in talks with North Star in Preston they are a Polaris and Yamaha dealer have not seen any money yet but looks good. I hope to do continue to have a shop and focus on turbos so I am not going to disappear just will no longer be able to service or sell new sleds. We sold over a hundred sleds a year and was a top producing dealer ever year and will miss it and the customers.

same thing going on in our area....dealerships quitting the CAT line because they can't sell a cat atv or prowler for nothin....Sell the crap outta the sleds but the atvs are a tough sell....Polaris on the other hand is about opposite....can't hardly sell a sled here and can't keep the 4 wheelers and rangers in stock. Cats rules suck if a dealer can't sell a wheeler why make them buy them....The cat wheelers are horrible anyways IMHO. and apparently alot of other people agree....stop makin the things and concentrate on the sled market.
 
sad to hear, thanks for selling me the new M love it. and after i hit a tree with 25 miles on they were the only people from rexburg to utah that had the a arms i needed. by the way kevin thats a sick sled you have. let me know when you start a turbo shop probably have to put one on the M when the warranty is up.
 
very dissapointed to hear this. I live 5 miles from cutlers but after a few rides with bret rasmussen, i was hoping to get my next sled from you guys with a boondocker noise maker on it. Hope something positive can come out of this in the long run for you.

that sucks.happened here twice.no dealer around now to warrenty my sled and cat sends me mail last week wanting me to buy another new sled.sure i will.:eek:
