Mountain Fit hood nose cone headlights

I would like to put two driving lights in my edge mountain fit hood nose cone area.
Will the heat from the lights melt or warp the hood?
Will the hot light lens crack with the snow hitting it?
Are there any other cons in doing this?
Please post some pics if you have some
Thanks

heres mine, havent had a single problem whatsoever!

Figure id also say that underhood heat isnt a problem since I probably make more than your average sled!!!

The heat shouldn't be an issue, Snow packing, or blocking the light beam is another story.

I have had three hoods, two of which i had lights mounted in, one IQ with the lights shining through holes similar to a fabcraft design and one GENII done just like the pROx above...both worked fine and never melted, the material may get warm but will not warp. Like stated above I had snow sticking in them all the time so i moved to a single LED light on the bars...hope my .02 cents helps

My problem is I have the headlight and a racepak on the front side of the handle bars and the GPS mounted on the back side.
I just don’t like the looks of the headlight so high to clear the low windshield I have.
I think if I put the headlight in nose area the rest should look OK

I added an extra tight beam "spot light" on the handlebars, the style of lights in the hood are a broad beam, between the two I can light up the dark night!

I have a friend that has a single diffrent model PIAA that does pretty well by itself!

Check out diffrent lights and their projection beam of light before you buy!

Its amazing to me how many sledders dont think about their lights or are happy with cheep wall mart type of fog lights..lights going out when your in the mountains can mean staying the night in the back country. Riding with week lights certainly isnt the "brightest" thing to do. Ill refrain from giving us a shamless plug.. do yourself a favor if you ride at night.. make sure you have good lights, Ive heard many bad stories..

or you can not put a light on the sled and get a lead dog helmet light. It's nice to have the light where you are looking.
