Mountain Bar question...

I just purchased a used sled and it has a rigid mountain bar on it (welded bar on the handle bar). Is anyone still putting these on their machines or is everyone going to the semi-rigid mountain bars? I am looking at it from a safety stand point...I can just imagine ramming my teeth, head or chest into it. I am leaning towards removing the hard bar and putting the semi-rigid cable style on it. Suggestions? Stories? Thanks.

I'd remove it without question. Imagine catching your junk on that on your way over the bars!

So far as riding goes I love a rigid bar, so far as wrecking goes or getting your bars in the chest I hate a rigid bar.

A lot would depend on how high your bars are, if they are old school and pretty low, it is probably fine and maybe even a good thing but if they are like mine, all jacked up, I would not want they rigid.

Only Mtn bar I like is the ones that serve Coors Light....

Get rid of it.

I have face planted the bars hard a few times on some big drops and you would NOT want that there.

Broke a sternum while using one of them. Ditch it... put on anything else, just get rid of it.
