Mountain Addiction can split at the seam

I have two of the small Mountain Addiction gas cans. I filled them for the first time this morning. Gassed up the sled pulled away from the pump to where my buddies were parked. Went to check that my gas can lids were on tight and saw has trickling down the side of one of the gas. Took a close look and one of the cans split right at the seam underneath the handle.

As I said this is the first time I have filled them and this could have been like this since I bought them this fall. Has anyone else seen this? Hoping Mountain Addiction will take care of this.

Must be a manufacturing defect as I have over 10 different mountain addiction cans of different sizes and have never seen this happen. I would contact them, they have always been good to deal with for me !!

I don't think there's any hope to it I'm sure when you call them on the first business day possible that they will be more than willing to take care of it

That sucks! I ran mine for 3 years with zero issues! The large tank, on the other hand expanded and deformed, but they took care of it! I can't imagine that they won't take care of you as it sounds like a defect?

Mt. Addiction gas tanks

Could they have exploded going up the mountain.. If they were empty, they had more gas than every body elses and expand more! Poof, there goes your hard earned cash. Ever hear potato chips explode in the truck? Water bottles?

Got ahold of Mountain Addiction about this and they are taking care of it for me as expected. They asked that I send a pic of my can sign they could be sure I got the same one and asked me to send then a pic with a hole drilled in the can and I won't need to send the old one in.

Also, I took a closer look at the leak and it wasn't a split seam. It was a tiny pin hole in the grip under the handle.
