Mototrax forksafe ski mount only for snowcheck

Ran one with a yeti ski. Seemed to hold up well thus far & their claim that the D bar will bend before damage to the forks occurs held true. I would order an extra D bar along with the mount just to have on hand in case it is needed. It is small enough to put in your pack and carry with on your ride in case something happens. Overall, I think its a much better design than what else is currently out there.

I'm confused, how do you ensure it is angled properly? Are all forks the same length on the bottom from the bolts? So it would also cover rebound adjusters?

The D bar is mounted through circular holes allowing it to rotate to the proper angle for the bottom of the forks. It is held in place by a collar with a set screw in the center. It does cover the rebound adjusters so it would require a few extra steps to adjust the rebound.

For each model of fork the brackets the D bar go through a different so that the bar and ski are at the correct angle. Fortunately there are not that many fork designs so that we only have six different designs of that bracket to cover pretty much every fork out.

can we some some pictures of it mounted to forks....break away part would have to be very weak so that you dont snap weak cast aluminum lowers

I will get some photos tomorrow, the 2017 kits will come with plastic bushing bumpers on fork models with weak lower bottoms.

Curious if you have this available for some older machines too? I'm thinking of restoring my yz250 1994 next. Either that or do a motor swap with it into a newer bike. Haven't decided, but it has a wicked motor. I don't think I will get a kit for it this next season, but possibly the one after.

We have a mount kit for a 2001 yz250, I don't know if it goes back to 1994 or not. From the looks of it I bet it does but we would have to do some research.

That's the other thing, is if I don't transplant the motor, thinking a fork upgrade might be worthwhile since these are only 43mm forks. I guess I should do some research, as I don't want it to be a big mess with it changing handling etc.

If I went KYB something like a 2006.

We can pretty much fit any brand of dirt fork from 2000-current.

I have attached a image below of how the d-bar works, its a bit dirty and fuzzy but its the same idea, non ktm/beta/husky forks will have a plastic bushing to protect fork bottoms (ktm fork shown).
