MOTOTRAX FIRST RIDE NOV 2016

That's a bit harsh, problem solved with the proper parts though.

the "parts" are sent out as a free upgrade, or you have to pay for them?

I feel for new products and their growing pains, but snowmachines are on a level with airplines to me, don't sell it if it is not reliable...

why is it suddenly moto4life when it was mototrax all fall wanting to chat and push the product, then silence, now moto 4 life (apparently the owner) comes on when it gets ugly?

I just cant believe this **** show and honestly its all the manufacturers. people take this stuff 30 miles or more into the back country, people aren't just riding around their backyards like no biggie if it breaks, you know how hard it is to get it out of a nasty hole 30 miles back in? It can or could become a life or death situation

I smashed my mototrax against a hidden stump today. Flew over the bars. I was thinking gosh, this could be bad. But, zero damage to the kit. And there was wood jammed in pretty deep. Picked it up, and rode out of the deep back country.

Just thought I'd inject some positivity. The track works great, takes big bumps, climbs and gets around just fine. The limitations on where my bike goes are clearly resting on me, not the track system.

I'm still going to do some improvements though. The pivot bearing things are a joke.

And the ski sucks. I can say that now that I have tried the yeti ski. It's much better.

Anyone want to buy a 17' mototrax ski?

I'm also curious about the "parts" because I seem to have fallen out of their email system and I'm also out of the loop on whatever instagram facebook MySpace feeds that have the information about this stuff.

Anyone want to buy a 17' mototrax ski? One of the things I liked a lot about the mototrax was the way they dont clamp on the tubes...so I'm curious.

Still waiting on mine, but when they were here for the demo rides 3 or so weeks ago. There was a lot of people from the local dirt biking group here trying them. They were not easy on them.

I don't remember hearing of any problems with the kit itself, bikes were breaking but I don't know that the kit itself broke.

So i'm just curious on what the problems are and what the parts are to fix the problems?

The one I rode was making a weird vibration noise on the trail sounded like something rubbing..didn't notice it in the trees. Might have been snow/ice buildup or the snowflap not sure.

Oh yea did you go with the full yeti clamp system? or just the ski?

EDIT: Also I don't have Facebook or Instagram or that garbage.

Mine makes a weird sound but I think it's just the sound of track on snow. It's more noticeable on certain conditions.
I just got the ski which was a pretty easy retrofit to the mototrax spindle. I drilled out the spindle to fit the tube that comes with the yeti ski. Riding today it was clearly superior in deep deep powder, but also on the sketchy trail. Previously there were times with the stock ski that I would just wash out even going straight if I was in a rut or something, or if I was side billing and tried to turn down hill the bike wouldn't turn and I'd fall over. The yeti ski improved feel and control greatly. I was carving downhill in super deep powder and gaining confidence that the stock setup would not give.

As a side note the yeti ski comes with like 9 titanium bolts and nuts, and a titanium base plate under the rubber. It's pretty bad ***! No carbides though.
They sent me both rubbers for timbersled and yeti because they didn't know which one was appropriate and I ended up using the timbersled one I think. They weren't labeled lol.

Notice no denial.
And yes with the RIGHT PARTS you can fix anything.
Flexing and bending ski saddle. The BILLET one works, these good people (that support your product) deserve one. NOT CHARGING THEM because you sent out a flawed component.
The rubber seal/damper on the Motolink . I gave the fix to Randy about 3 weeks ago. The fix that I gave you works (all the tracks I installed them on have never failed. Also the ski mod I showed you works it will save people from buying different ski's.
There is a lot of good people on this forum helping you out. If you think about it I am one of them, Zak. It is not negative its about staying in the game . Hopefully you guys are learning.

Helico, how did you keep the rubber seal/damper in the joint. Struggling with that issue now. Appreciate advice.

It is a simple fix if you have lathe or access to one
The rubber seals id is to big so it stretches over the retainer.
Make a bushing that fits over the inside of the metal retainer . Tried to post pictures to no avail.
Randy has this fix. I have not had a problem on any of the tracks since I did this .

Do you have a fix for the rubber seal/damper on the motolink? Mine came out and crushed the retainers on the first ride. I was told u Mototrax that they are actually not essential and that he personally rides without them.

Thanks for reply. I actually made a washer out of 1/8 aluminum to fit over and held in by retainer/bushing but seems too thick so thinking about thinner steel washer? Unfortunately, no lathe.

Sorry for the long delay, been busy all week.

Anyways the original post I assume was the warranty mishap that we had on the first set of production units. All of those units were sent upgrades to fix an idler wheel location issue. Basically during our prototyping the kits had a specific track clip and the idler wheels that ran half in a hole and half out causing minimal vibration. When the production tracks came in they flipped the direction of the side positioning clip on the track and is caused a horrible vibration that would cause bolts to fall out of tunnel and in many cases chew up the idlers.

We sent out new parts to relocate the idlers, and if someone already rode and chewed up the idlers we sent them new idles too.

Also I want everyone to know that we have improved our customer service process and is run by Danny. We also have started utilizing a Ticket system so that if you call or email in to our customer service you will not fall through the cracks. As we were growing this year and got very busy the old method of responding to customer service issues was not working.

I'm just curious of what bike you rode, I assume in Oregon, we had one of our demo bikes drop an exhaust valve at one of the oregon demos, the bike only had like 2 engine hours on it. It may have been that one.

Also the new 2017 ktm 450f's seem to vibrate a lot. I went out last weekend for a day with a 2015 FC450 and a 2017 450SXF and the 2015 was much smoother and quieter overall.
