motor mounts on pro

If your existing 2011 PRO RMK mounts break and you are under warranty... yes, I'm sure they will cover costs.

Just like with any other product out there... Products are improved and refined. But factories cant be updating products because a "New and Improved" one came out.

Polaris was HUGELY generous with the $1000 to any original owner that wanted to do a trade in on their 2011 sled if they liked the 2012 more. They took good care of the PRO 2011 owner IMO.

MH, i still confused about the whole motor mount thing too.. is it worth my money to look into getting new motor mounts if i havent had the problem. What did they upgrade on them? WHAT!!!! 1000 bux to trade for a 12??????? I never heard that.... lol. I want that retro one pretty bad!!! Is that still goin?

I doubt it... I think there may have been some bad bolts out there though.

The new motor mounts are a simple design refinement that happens when evolve and improve a design... I'm glad that Polaris is on the ball as far as refinements go!!

That was the explanation I got...Bad Bolts. HMMMM. Anyways, Curt hooked me up with what was at the time a prototype of the Mount Plate. It has worked great! It wasn't really a simple install for me, but I am not a very good wrench. I have been promising to do a write up on it for him, but I took most of my photos with a phone I no longer have. I am digging through my pics now to try and find a pic of it that I took with a camera.

What I will say is that the 2012's have what appears to be an improved mount system with additional components in it that look like it will locate the motor more firmly in the chassis.. The parts have all changed.

Some of the 2011 mounting bolts did break but I have no definitive answer for the reason.

The price and avail of the 2012 mounts and a mount kit should be out sometime later this month.

Have a look at my other thread on the 2012 changes for the details on the "WHAT they changed"

The $1000 back "deal" from Polaris has been in two popular threads and in the ad campaign for the 2011 sleds since last year....

You can still do it if you took delivery of your sled less than 12 months prior to trading in your 2011 to a Polaris dealer for a 2012.... the 2011's are really holding their value, so this is a pretty good deal.
