motor mounts on pro

Thanks to MH for all his information on the 12 pros.
How many are going to upgrade to the new motor mounts and what should we be looking for to make sure ours are okay?
How many have had injector go bad?
I am getting ready to go over my assault for winter and was just wondering what I should be looking for.
Those who have installed venting have you seen any temp changes?
My assault has 900 + or - miles on it I bought it late last season and only got to ride it a few times and each time it but a grin on my face.
I got a hps can and a 5.1 track cut down and looking strongly at a 13-1 power addiction head and of course a muff pot.I also be changing the snow flap and adding a gauge lifter more for the hot air to escape than to read the dash.So I what I am asking do I have to replace my motor mounts and for go the gauge lifter and sno flap.
So lets hear from you pro guys

Thinking about the same thing. The inside story on the motor mount changes is what really matters, what did they find, and why. Alignment better, maybe, but the pro arguably has the lowest clutch temps on the stockers, by far. More rigid = more vibration. But I doubt it's just to be more rigid. Someone knows more, it's just finding them and getting them to spill the beans.

I have a 2012 on order and I'm keeping my 2011.

I'm buying the updated motor mounts. My first belt went 900 miles. The next 4 went a lot less. Ended the season with 2500 miles but had a lot of belt heat in the end. I bought the Polaris clutch alignment tool and the clutches are aligned when the motor isn't running, I think when the motor is under load it is twisting from torque and the clutches are out of alignment producing heat.

Also going to send off my clutch to be balanced.

Can't wait for the snow to fly.

Is there any early warning signs of motor mount failure or bolts that are going to break and cause clutch damage? I heard that that was a problem on the early pros.
After adding vents did anyone notice engine temps going down or you didn,t have to run your scratchers as much? Not that I mind running with the scratchers down it is not remembering to but them up.Had I known that I was going to live this long I would have taken a little better care of my self. [ not really]

I know when Shane does his turbo kit (HM Turbos) he has some parts for the motor mount. Not sure but I am sure he can chime in on the issue

FTX has a less expensive version of the billet motor plate to help the 2011's.

The new mounts are def a good upgrade.

The FTX solution is a better one that also prevents the case from twisting under load.

Any details on the new mounts? What differs from '11?

And if Shane's fix is more expensive than FTX's bilet plate, what is it??

Vents

I did the 2 cools vents which I love and recommend. They are durable and look really good on the sled. Some of the competing vents I have looked at are actually kind of cheap material and seem to bend or warp as they are exposed to heat from the pipe or clutch.
I am not sure though how much my temps really changed. I do notice a difference when we we are in deep powder and the hood intakes are packed full of snow, but otherwise not really. I think the stock Polaris cooling works very efficiently when its not plugged with snow. When it is, you need some more air. Its just a trade off. I am convinced that when you start cutting holes in the panels you disrupt the channeling of the air and not always in a good way.

So we have 3 different options for motor mounts ,new style oem,ftx and shanes .Is it the mount or is it the rubber snubbers that are being changed?
Typeing is my limit to my computer skills could someone show all three to compare. It would be interesting to see how each one differs from the other.
I have 2cool venting on my dragon and yes they make a good product I have built two sets one for my wife and and the other for a friend all out of aluminum and pet screen but I never checked to see if it really helped with under the hood temps. My dragon always runs around 126 deg and the 06 rmk runs 130 and above I have tried everything to bring down the temps, venting, thermostat, front rad delete , porting the track, water wetter and scratchers for some reason when my better half ride it hence the name NO THROTTLE NANCY it over heats I even bought lessons from Amber. A little off track their .
So will venting help the pro on those low snow days?
Labor day weekend and I am at work

Has anyone verified that Shane Hart of HM turbos has a "kit" that is available to the public?

Any specifics on kit contents, price etc.

Beamslayer...

Are you talking about heating problems on your IQ or do you have a PRO that is giving you problems??

Sorry did not make myself clear .I have a pro assault and it is the standard issue that everyone has.How much does venting help compared to nonventing 5 to 10 degs has anyone ever checked?
If I do venting and soild sno flap what am I going to lose in temps is it worth the investment?

Man... do I hate doing paperwork... 3 solid days glued to the desk... glad I have SW to give me the occassional breather.

Beamslayer.

See my thread on "Venting and the Pro Ride"

Start a new thread on cooling the PRO RMK or chime in on an existing one and I'll answer your cooling questions there.

I'd hate to take this thread off track.

Amen to that ..I run and take care of customers and escape back here.
I will check out the venting thread.Thank MH for all your efforts.
snow snow snow snow come on snow

Back to the mounts...so this new style mount that polaris has out what changed and are they recalling the OEM's? If not is it recomended to change them? Obviously the only solution if running a turbo would be FTX's plate.

I asked that in the beginning and got no reply.Do the mounts have anything to do with the bolts breaking and taking out the clutch.Does the engine have to be removed to install the new mounts?

I doubt it... I think there may have been some bad bolts out there though.

The new motor mounts are a simple design refinement that happens when evolve and improve a design... I'm glad that Polaris is on the ball as far as refinements go!!

Mh do you know when the mount will be avaliable and the cost.I have not looked at my pro that close yet do you have to pull the engine to replace the mounts?

I'm told end of sept we should see a part number and reasonable cost on an update kit.

Yes... pull motor to replace mounts... Give you a chance to clean the thing up a bit.
