motor mount issue

2004 700 Pro X - the motor mounts ended up getting loose and wore the holes in the bulk head oblong. The nuts, that I assume should be welded to the bottom of the plate, are also no longer attached and fell below the plate. I cannot see a way to get below the plate without cutting welds and drilling out rivets which I am not sure I want to do. Do I need to find a machine shop to cut open the bulkhead and weld up the holes and reattach the nuts? Anyone seen this before and have advice? I have attached some pictures of the oblong holes. Thanks!!

Holes

There are plates with nuts welded to them inside that area that is oblong. They are held in place with the pop rivets that are on either side of those holes. The mounts screw into those pates. If they are broken or stripped, you should be able to remove them by drilling out the rivets. Then you can repair or replace them. I don't see them in the parts list so if you can't fix them you will need to fabricate new ones. Use the old ones for a pattern. I wouldn't bother welding up the hioles because once you have the plates fixed, they will pinch tight on the aluminum.

could you cut a hole on the bottom side coming upward with a hole saw and put a nut and washer instead of the plate?

THIS^^^

I have done this on my sled. Hole saw from underneath the sled. Drill an access hole. Drill out the pop rivets that hold the plate and stock nut in place and remove it. Now just use a washer and nut. Make sure to locktite it. If you run a skid plate, it will cover up the access hole you have drilled to get at that area. If not, try to pick one used, or just pop rivet a piece of plastic sheet over it.
