motor locked up.

i rode it pretty hard today, had a brand new crate motor in it like 1500 miles ago im guessing. (no spedo) towards the end of they day, i was cruzin along and all the sudden it acted funny like it was fowling a plug, i let off, and it died. tried to move the primary and it was completely froze up. what could have happend? just wondering what you guys think before i tear into it this week. crank bearings?? pto side was nice and brown, mag side was grey. im wondering if the crank seal went out and leaned the mag side out and killed the bearing. defs no motor mechanic so what do you guys think?

Still locked up solid?
No puddling of coolant or oil underneath the sled?
Mag side lower rod bearing if yes to either of these questions.

i dunno how locked up. i was pissed at it, so i threw it in the shop and left it. i couldnt turn it with my hands with some decent force behind it, and no the pull rope defs dont do it either. and its not like a scrapping lock. its like a complete solid wont move a milimeter.

well i pulled the motor out, my damn c clip failed and caused all kinds of damage. tore up the cylinder wall pretty bad and rocked the pistons world. im not sure what kinda damage the bottom end went through tho. i cant seem to get it apart. i have all the bolts taken out, and it wont separate. is there some bolts behind the fly wheel i have to get? and also, im not sure if i should go with the rk tek kit, or the ski doo double ring pistons. the ski doo pistons are 300 for pistons and a complete gasket kit and caged bearings. rk teks is 335 without gaskets or caged bearings.

Ohhh piston jammed.......****ty deal.
Ski-Doo pistons are the exact same as Namura Hyper Drive Pistons. These are the ONLY piston BRP uses for all E-Tec motors, sled and marine. Namura has been selling them to aftermarket for the past while. And work excellent in ANY motor, not just E-Tecs.
SPI distributes them as Hyper Drive pistons, if you go this route make sure you get the Hyper Drive and not the standard SPI MOLY pistons. And definately not the standard SPI's which are not coated(and sub-par).

You need a flywheel puller and need to remove the stator in order to split the cases.

you will have to take the mag and stator off to split the cases ,the stator bolts hold the case haves together.
are the rkt pistons cast, this would be the deciding factor for me,go with cast pistons .

Last time I talked to Kelsey you cann't use his pistons without his head.

You would have to contact Kelsey to get the latest details. He has direct OEM replacement pistons again.
Not sure on the cast vs. forged though. I just installed his drop in kit in my 05 Rev and I went with forged pistons and this thing is rockin it.

i had the spi coated pistons in it when it blew. the pistons held up good, but the clip fell out. i guess there is a history of them falling out. the ski doo ones are the only way to go with the little L type deal that keeps them in place. and im gonna ask kelsey if my spi head will work with his drop in kit. they sell race domes for pump gas they i will pry thow in and see what he as to say about that. if that wont work i will probably go with the double ring ski doo pistons. im sure they are good.

Are you sure about this? I saw another thread stating that MCB pistons were made by Namura & all of the SPI pistons that I've sold say made in Taiwan. Which one of these pistons will take 8700 RPMs? The stockers don't seem to like it & I haven't had much luck w/SPI pistons. I'm leaning towards Wiseco. 09 800R w/ twins.
