Alright, think about this. One of those on a pop-up turret, with reflector based optics system. Night vision, maybe throw in an infrared paint and target sensor. Except with a .223 based belt feed gun, think SAW. That'd give a Federal / SWAT teams a fit. Nothing to sharpshoot at, and you never know when it's gonna pop up and spit lead. Or one with a high powered rifle, for long shots. Heck, even a Beretta semi-auto pistol with continuous feed magazine. Scary future for law enforcement. Of course, you'd need something for the armored personel carrier.
You can still talk about this stuff without become labeled as a terrorist, can't you? Bet the kid gets orders for hundreds of them from the middle east.

Needs to be equipped with a auto pan-tilt-zoom videocam, and remote disable of the cannon, for such entertainment.

How many movies/book has this concept been in? Besides, last I checked, pointing out the obvious wasn't against the law. If I were law enforcement, I'd be developing a plan to deal with these things. Maybe they can hire me to help?

Watching the video, I can see how the algorithm works, He needs a low pass filter also, that way he'd detect very slow moving objects. Guarantee you, you could walk right in front of that thing, very slowly, and it wouldn't detect you.

I think from a government standpoint they have way too much risk. How do you determine a threat in the first place? The first innocent person to be killed by one and they would all be removed. Plus I haven't heard of a person that wants to give up control, that and I am sure a grenade would solve the situation pretty easily, or maybe one of those prism mirrors or something.
