Whats the most southern decent riding spot where you can still get into some powder?
Mammoth?
or is there spots further south

We'll need rentals to i suppose

Heres why I'm asking I'm in Minnesota my dad and bro wanna come here to snowmobile welllll...it sucks here i barely ride here I go west lol (WY MT ID etc) i figure itd be easier for me to fly back to them and we head out from there...their in Acton CA..(santa clarita valley basically)

Both will catch on in no time as i did we all grew up everyday on a dirtbike or jet-ski so im not worried about the terrain so much.... everywhere has trails so help me out i really dont want them to think snowmobiling is flatland crap that minnesota has to offer

Thanks in advance

Mammoth would probably be your best bet. We had a really crappy year this year around Tahoe. Hope that we will have a better season next year for sure.

Not too familiar with riding further down south. there is some good riding around south Lake Tahoe but that is obviously further north then Mammoth is. There is some great riding near Truckee CA.which is further north again and even further north near Weber lake and grey eagle areas which are all linked by a groomed trail system. lots of places to have fun off the trail. Someone will jump in with some ideas later in the season its pretty slow this time of year obviously.

Tahoe or Mammoth are your two choices really. Both are about a toss up as far as driving time from Acton. 395 to Mammoth is a prettier drive, but probably more choices in Tahoe.

Tyhe closest groomed trails 2-3 hours start at Kennedy Meadows Rd, Inyokern, CA 93527 in the Sequoias.

Go HWY 14 north till merges with HWY 395 take a left (China Lake military area on the right) on 9 mile road go from 2000 feet to 7000 feet about 15 miles from the 395 unload where you can pull over and ride.

There isnt much at Kennedy but 28 FULL TIME residents and lots of forest.

Or you could ride another 2-3 hours to Mammoth Lakes CA total time 4-5 hours and go where there is 3 x the riding area and 100 times more riders.
There is no riding between Mammoth and Kenndy meadows on the East side of the Sierras. You will be lucky to see 3 groups of riders at Kennedy but you will see 30 groups at Mammoth ... on the weekend.

Kennedy area has the most intense SUMMER MOUNTAIN off roading for the entire area.
