I've seen some of you guys run vents in the sidepanels.

It looks freakin cool and the read before buy sticky said venting venting and more venting.

Who makes the best vents? A quick Google search came up with MoFlow and they look nice.

What else is out there? A list of vent fabricators would be nice :)

I have the xxxmodrods and really like them. but SLP also makes some. (I have the shock tower and some of there other vents.

Thanks for the links!

Anyone using the 2cool side panel vents? If so, satisfied or would you Get a different brand next time around?

I already have the shock tower vent on clutch side, and both the rear ones. The right shock side got the nos bottle on it, so no vent there.

Is it possible to have too much vents and getting too cool for just cruising along the trail? Probably a dumb Q but the only way to learn is asking :)

No don't have to worry about being to cold. I do a lot of trail riding at home when it's -20 and have not had a problem.

my #1 vent supplier personally is Bill, at MouintainFitHoods...he is just a great guy, with great products..

I have also got some vents from Mo-Flow...he goes by Snowbound on here i believe..also a very great guy..

or you can search around (including ebay) for a guy that goes by LongTracksEdge...his side panels vents are AWESOME..

after those 3 guys...i will go to FNI, 2 Cool after that

I love the Fastrax carbon fiber vents, or just buying the side panel with it built in. Second choice would be XXXmodrods.. or mnt. fit.

would you mind posting a few shots of the vents you got on it?
Is shock towers + side panels enough or should I add in front og the bars besides the stock ones as well?

Oh belive me I would love those too, but they're a bit pricey. I'm planning on front motor mount, bar riser, more vents etc this summer so carbon fiber, nomatter how awesome, is waaaaaay down my list :)

I had my above sitrrup side panel vents and dash vent power coated black and then made my own screen. here's a pic of some SLP shock tower vents I "had" on my sled ( they came off with my 06 plastics )
IMO, I dont like the stainless steel vent look.
If I buy new side panels, I wouldn't put the ones shown powder coated back on, there is very little plastic there after you cut out for the vent install. It causes the side panel to flex too much....just the side panel vent and the stirrup vent is more than enough

When I vent my new 09 plastics kit I'm going to use these:

Hood Vents

Side Panel Vents - Blk w/ Red screen

Stirrup Vents - Powder Coated Black

The #09ESSTV Extreme Shock Tower vent from Fire-n-Ice (no picture :face-icon-small-dis )
And the Dash Vents shown below

Jeff..

great post, good info...

only have 2 concerns for your project buddy..

the info above you posted..

those stirrup vents will only work if you use the DRAGON center console, then you would have to get the side shields as well in order to use them...(refer to Fast Freddies build for reference...

this is the center console i have, polaris part number 2633519-070 look it up on babbittsonline to see it...the stirrup vents wont work there..and the way the one i have is vents plently so no need for those vents ;)

if you get shock tower vents and side panel vents...your golden..

you can even go as far as getting some center hood vents, but you should be good with just the 2 on each side..

i dont have many pics of the vents i have...and i have alot of mix match...(before i found MF hoods or other companies)

I dont have any shock vents right now but getting the MF hood vents this summer for sure..

The Large side vent is from Mo-Flow...and they are GREAT! The small tear drop one is my own work, but works well ;)

This is the best pic i think of the side panel, by LongTracksEdge, i like these cause they consume the entire side panel

Photobucket is acting weird and locking up my comp, will post more pics later..

you can go in my signature and click the wifes 06 700 buiold and see the MF hoods side panel vents...they are GREAT...

i guess i dont have of the shock tower vents mounted on the sled...

if you have to have the pics of them, i can get them for you but in the middle of a bathroom remodel and i need to get back to it, lol..

you wont be anything but happy with ALL of Mountainfit hoods vents...check his site out and buy all of them, lol

i have never seen them in person...do they peel off?

how do they apply..adhesive backing?

i do like the console vents for sure...they also make some neat hood vents ones...

They do have a special adhesive.. when you put them on you can actually peel off and move. Once I got mine on i let sit inside for 24hours. The cold actually set the glue some how. ??? Call them and he will tell you what kind of solvent to use to stripe away any wax or residue. I didnt do that part I was in a hurry I just flamed the area. Seems to work awsome, I was worried about the shock tower vents. Deep snow and trees they held up great. My friend had a shock tower vent lift just a little bit on the edge. He called them and they sent him a new set. I bought the whole works, big air intake, shock tower, and side panel. Wish I would have got the head light adjuster cover
