If the guy didn't have a gun he wouldve went around and avoided everything.case closed.
That is probably the best post I've read yet!

I'll agree he had no choice but to shoot the moose but it was his poor choices that led up to it.
I don't take the family on a trip to Disneyland and then last minute take a detour through Compton!

You hit the nail on the head! You saw everything. You don't see a problem with a person putting themselves within 50' of a moose when the groomed trail you are on is the moose preferred line of travel? Man vs moose standoff will almost always not have a good outcome. Defend it all you want but I don't understand how anyone could watch that video and say that the fellow made the right choice. I'll agree he had no choice but to shoot the moose but it was his poor choices that led up to it.
I don't take the family on a trip to Disneyland and then last minute take a detour through Compton! It would be a poor decision and IMO that's how all this started. Idk.... For all I know maybe the steering on his sled was broke but it appeared as though he had multiple doors to choose and IMO he choose wrong!

One thing I do not see in that video is a groomed trail. I see a 1 sled width track that he was on. I do not see where he could have gotten off the track and go through the trees if and I say if he was not a real good rider. None and I repeat none of us knows his skill level on a sled. My guess is he did not see a choice but to try and scare of the moose which did not work out to well for either. In he thread that was locked people mentioned backup. As I said there backing up usually ends up getting you stuck anywhere but on a groomed trail.
And you know this because you were there?
