Monster Bowl

Just watched the vidios there Stray pretty fn awsome. Does anyone have GPS coodinates for it I would like to check it out on google.

Honestly...yes I am scared. and I bet you chit yo pants too.

Honestly I would not climb it, someone will get ***ged up there someday... mark my words. But that is beside the point.

1000 ft tops.

Actually I am going to say that monster chute is under 900 ft.... about 885 ft... from the lake to the crest.

Any one want to make a wager that 885 is closer than 1500??:D

My sled's paid for...

no i wasnt scared goin over but when i turned out and my skis touched the cornice and i rode it down just to turn around 5 secs later to try again..still never chit myself..lol:beer; well ill gps it on sat and let you know what the diff is from top to bottom..

I like how everyone wants a piece of monster.LOL.Id say you have to be real lucky to have a sled left if you dont make it to the top.Just seeing it from the bottom or top is enough for most people.

from looking at Google Earth it shows it to be just under 1200 feet from lake to top of the monster chute. I would guess it's more accurate than a gps, I know mine isn't super accurate....

no you will have a sled left i should know.. and turning out 1/2, 3/4 or 5 ft from the top can be done also...:D wow Boost 3 is gona be sweet everyone

What elevation does Google Earth show for you? Mine shows the lake as 1785m and the top is 2059m (274m diff). Or did you measure the actual distance? GE shows that at 1200ft. No idea if GE is accurate

Ohhh no, you guys are wrong. GPS and google earth are not accurate. Marcuso says it's 885 ft, so it must be 885 ft fo sho.
Civ. GPS is accurate within 10 meters. We have GPS'd to 1500 ft. I would guess that a GPS on site would be more accurate than Google earth, but who knows.
In any instance, it's a long pull. A few guys have rolled their sleds from near the top and survived ( except 1 hood.. SP :D ) I wouldnt want to roll one down in spring concrete though, it would be yard sale city.
Neil, you guys drive safe tonight, load up on Redbull, and keep the DVD player cranked. See youze in the minyana. We be sleddin. and filmin, and sum more sleddin... forcast says bluebird.... :beer;

Veedy keep it up and im gona go warm the truck load the sled and be there in the am..:D hey save sum chutes for me...:beer;

LOL
Yah Id say you were lucky I watched your sled roll to the bottom.Im just saying if 10 first timers to Revy go to those chutes I bet there is will be some major carnage.

Thanks for the directrions guys I will be there next year to try and wreck my sled and put how good some of you guys are in perspective

We were there on easter and never beeing there before From verbal instructions on how to get in there it was pretty straight forward. also it was not hard or scary to get in or out. it is impressive but has lots of turn out room. coming down well that depends on snow conditions.

Yeah, you can turn it out in Jan/Feb, probably won't wreck too much.... LOL

Have a roller there in spring snow with no fresh to cushion the blow and you'll be taking what's left of your sled home in no less than 3 garbage bags..... :D

Like Hardass, I'd be interested to see a correlation of descending track speed to descending sled speed in hero snow....

track speed = 0 mph
sled speed = 50-60 mph

GOT Brakes? Don't matter if you do..... LOL :)

It was snowing on the hiway between Golden and Revy yestarday and it looked socked in uptop when i was passing through revy. Damn, shouldve brought the sled!
