Modular or MX style which one is better?

I'm looking into buying a new helmet and was curious on views of which style is better and why.....feel free to give me your opinions. Thanks!!!

Lmao but I use the mx style, I like having goggles and suits me better. Some swear by modular helms though, lol

if you ride really cold weather you may like a modular helmet better..I started out with a mx helmet years ago...then went to modular ..this season I will wear both...........

I have both. When its cold I wear the mod. 2, when there lots of POW I wear the MX. A few years ago I did a head first in 40" of fresh wearing the mod and it was a bad deal, i couldn't breath the air ports in the mod where plugged. Bought the MX the next day.

Is this a serious question?
I once was FORCED (shamefully) into wearing a modular helmet for about a 20 mile ride (thank GOD nobody saw me!). The thing was the biggest piece of crap I'd ever seen since... well anything. It took a matter of about 0.000002 seconds for it to fog over completely, then I had to run with the shield up because the fog instantly turned to ice (it was freakin' cold that day) and no matter how I tried, I couldn't keep it from fogging. NEVER again will I wear an NMFH.

Mod - heavier, harder to breath in, the power cord gets tangled, has that "jet fighter" cool factor that looks great on a runway.

MX - lighter, easier breathing, has the cool factor that everyone is looking for with all the best graphics to make your statement.

Mods make me claustrophobic and I couldn't get it off fast enough when I'm already gasping for air. Flip the goggles off the mx and look at me... I'm outside

Don't ever take the mod off and no one will know who you are.

Wear what you want.

Ya I'm still up in the air. I like how modulars can just be flipped up and be able to breath and talk....but mx seem to fog up less. Plus can random breath deflectors fit other brands? cuz I'm having trouble finding a breathe deflector that go with the KFX MX style helmet I like.

started with the air force helmet, now mx helmet. as others have said, mx is lighter, more air flow, and if googles fog, switch to a new pair. mods are for trails going 100mph non stop, plus heard that the chin part on a mod breaks easy..

I have both; an mx helmet and a full face helmet with a wired windshield. I like them both although I find I have a harder time breathing through my nose due to the goggles on my mx helmet. The full face with the wired shield very rarely ever fogs up.

You will find most on this site swear by the mx helmet but when it is -20C out, I love the full face as I find it a lot warmer.

Wear what you want. The people on here will make fun of you regardless of what you wear.
