Mods?

Here is what I did to one PRO and it is OUTSTANDING: (took most of the season to really get it dialed in but by the end with this combo it was a great runner and was really turning heads)

Performance:

Power Addiction 13.6 head ( I ride mostly 5500 and up )
Carl's Clutch kit ( finally getting the dial ins for all the various altitudes and conditions after 1300 miles...the kit is super flexible when you get the correct weights)
trimmed my 5.1 to 2.1" no screws did put screws down the center rows to avoid the coolers when I thought we would race this sled and it cost 150rpm...but even at 7950 the sled was incredibly strong over other comparison vehicles that we were testing...probably wouldn't recommend that to the everyday recreational guy but the trim is a huge improvement over the stock track..didn't get time to reclutch and see if we could find those R's and compare...just ran it and still put on a whooping to like classed sleds.

Ride and Experience IMPROVEMENTS:
Better Boards
Fox Racing Shox Evol R front over Holz arms..Fox Evol R rear and Zero Pro rear with a Renton Coil Spring prototype progressive rate Ti spring

BONE STOCK EXHAUST and POLARIS MAPPING
Flat out destroys a stocker in any condition deep or hard pan, flat or steep

F-Bomb has some killer mods in his list.

Rob, what are you running for clutching with that Power Addiction head? I'm thinking of trying that head this winter and I'm curious if I have the weights or will need some new ones. I have the Team Tied so I'm not certain if I'll have to make changes there or not.

Carl's Kit which is team with their dual angle helix cut, spring combo, and their select brand of weight.....you can call Chris in Performance 208-853-5550 and order the kit. I can help anyone on weight combos after you own the kit or when you are ordering from Carl's from 4000ft to 11,000

I think the head alone is worth 2 grams on most sleds..obviously alot depends on other factors but that was my experience

There are afew things that can wake up that sled for not much money.. We will have a drop in kit (like we have been doing with the Ski Doo's for 10 years) that will do wonders for the 800 POlaris , especially at elevation.. Polaris has made a huge error with this engine and the higher elevation performance. This is what will be addressed with this kit\.
Also, The Team Tied secondary with the PROPER helix works well for the steep and deep..

is this big mistake a secret or can you elaborate? I get that your product is based on your development but that is a bold thing to say so I'm very curious.

I agree with the statement being bold. Polaris has design engineers that certainly know what the are doing. I'm sure they left a little power in the motor for reliability. I wouldn't go as far to say a big error. It sounds like there are some performance gains they found which is great.

I am thinking about putting some mods/upgrades on my pro. Pro is stock except for better boards. Any suggestions?

is there some specific thing your sled wont do as is?(i.e climb, sidehill, jump, etc)

i really think everyone is stuck in the old mindset that you HAVE to do something to your sled to make it better....

i really dont think this sled needs much, but what do i know?

if your spending less than 4000 i would say your wondering about suspension, clutching, .... thats an awesome way to get a little more

carls clutching, dial the stock suspension, or if you have the coin go aftermarket maybe

other than that, save your money for fuel, my .02
