Modifing a Yamaha Bravo

Looking for suggestions on inexpensive mods to do to a Yamaha Bravo for my kids sled. Longer track, tunnel, motor work (pipe) anyone ever done any of this?
Thanks in advance

Back in like 98 one of my friends put a longer track under a Bravo for his grand kid to ride. Kid was like 10 years old and he could follow me on my '98 700RMK anywhere and everywhere on that silly little Bravo. I think he put a 136x1.6 Polaris track under it and geared it down a little bit.

Have you ridden it yet? Pretty fun little sleds. Any kind of track upgrade will have to involve stretching the skid . . . humm gain vs return ??

As I remember, ours was a 250 and would go pretty good for what it was, but not sure what it will pull, even with a better track, there still won't be much clearance under it, and no suspension.

There are some great deals to be found on fan sleds that are more capable and still cheap.

The bravo's are pretty popular for the starter sleds they are, maybe sell it and trade up to a better sled and break even ?

Just a thought.

sprok

the brovo comes fith somthing like a 4 in pitch. you need to change sprokets to change the track, and as far as i can see you cant buy the sprokets without buying the track from dennis kirk anyway?

anybody know where i can get these drivers? .975 square shaft 2.52 pitch

track mod

I put an old Polaris SKS 133.5" tack with 1 inch lugs in an 88 Ski Doo Tundra one time. I had it lying around. I got some 2.52 pitch 7 tooth drivers from SLP and re-cut the drive shaft hole to fit the ski doo. The skid was simply moved back to fit the track and we put some wide ski skins on the steel skis. That sled was, and still is AMAZING! Even for adults. I would have put a taller lug in it if I had had one. The smaller 7 tooth driver gave a decent drop in gear ratio, but the stock gearing would have driven the slightly larger track with no problem.

Not the same sled, but they are pretty similar. Have fun.

bravos respond well to porting, make sure you cut the base gasket to match the transfer ports as it overlaps them from the factory restricting flow.

We stuck on old Phazer rear suspension under one and stretched it to 121 with a tack off a Vmax 600. Works great, not too much track for the engine. It sat out in the sun for a long time, so I painted the hood w/ a flat black primer. Looks like a "mod" as far as the kids are concerned.
