Coming out on a Friday/Saturday in Early Febuary and wanted to ask if I-70 west out of Denver is best route or is going south on I-25 better (or even possible).

Pulling 30 ft trailer and thinking about the Denver ski rush.....

Any input is excited. First trip to this area. Excited to try new area.

Thanks

I 70 is the best route. Ski traffic is Friday going up and Sunday coming back. If you miss those you should get through pretty easily.

You can try and avoid it using Hwy 50. I think the exit off 76 is in Brush to come in through Limon east of Co Springs. Snake through CS (the worst part) and make your way down to Hwy 50 in Canon City, head west on 50 to Montrose, north 40 minutes to the Mesa.

This route is mostly mountain two lanes but should have less traffic than I70.

99/100 times 70 will be your best bet. It's worth checking google maps for traffic beforehand depending on your timing. Ski traffic can vary greatly depending on your timing. If you can avoid hitting 70 between denver and silverthorne from roughly 5pm to 8pm Friday night or 630am to 9am Saturday morning, it will save you frustration and time on the i70 parking lot.Going south to hwy 50 can work, taking 285 west sometimes works (north at fairplay).

You can take the debeque cutoff from 70 and head straight up to mesa, after Vail, there isn't much traffic at all.

I 70

Check the CDOT Web site and cameras posted along I 70 should give you a good idea of traffic and conditions.. Be safe
