Mirage, Pace, charmac, or haulmark

I had never heard of ATC.....had to google it. Looks nice. Sweet deal as well.
Back when I bought mine I could have got a new Featherlite for 12k. I thought who in the heck would spend that much.........sure wish I would have been smarter then.....Aluminum is in my near future fo sho!

My dad had a Pace and i hated pulling that thing. Loaded with 4 sleds it felt like it was driving/pulling you.... it was all over the road, we tried loading front to back, back to front and it never made a diffrence. I think i remember doing back flips when he sold that death trap!! Mabye they build better trailers now, his was a 98 or 99. I still think they are kind of at the bottom of the food chain. Wells cargo has my vote for all the reasons stated above.

weight transfere hitch

I have an 03 Haulmark. It is a steel frame trailer and is on the heavy side but is rugged. It has a dove tail rear, which is easy to load. The front V-nose door is pretty steep and I plan on adding a lifter and a flip over extension. It is the lower profile style which can be hard on the forehead, as in low bridge, once or twice or in my case a dozen times and you learn to watch your head on the front and side doors.

I have a Duramax and get about the same mileage empty (10mph) as I do loaded with three sleds, excepting high winds or steep grades. The best thing I have done is adapt my equalizer hitch that I bought to tow my toy hauler (much heavier) to the Haulmark. I bought some extra stabilzyer bar saddles and mounted them on the A frame of the Haulmark. It is the best thing I have done. The trailer pulls much nicer, as I now transfere weight to the front axle of the truck. No more saging rear end. I pull from western Nebraska to Wyoming and often times it is on slick roads and at a minimum, in high winds. This setup has made a world of difference and makes towing in those conditions far more manageable and not terrigying.

Don't forget about Trails west..... New to market but very well built

I'm actually really considering those. I have heard very good things about them. Only thing they seem a little heavy. Think I'd notice 900 more pounds of weight with my truck? Just a 5.3 chev. Pulls my friends 26' mirage like a dream(just not a diesel)

I drag race cars and snowmobile so i have some experience with enclosed trailers in both those arenas. Pace is real nice trailer, and what i would be buying today if i was in the market. They're generally a little more expensive but the features and quality make them worth the extra bucks.

Anyone have any feedback on the CargoMate Snowbird, made by Forest River? I know one guy that has had one for about 10 years and really likes it, but curious what other opinions are?

I wouldn't buy another mirage no matter how good of deal I got on it.

Mine is 4 years old and looks 10, build-quality issues nowithstanding.

I see alot of quality has been dropped in the mirage like butt welding frame rails with no gusets and torch cuts instead of bandsaw...poor under the skin quality..i have had to reweld several areas on my buddies trailer ie. axle mounts and where those areas are butt welded...

Well mirage is out of the picture without a question.

Pace, wells cargo, trails west is whAt I'm looking at now. I like the pace American trailers a lot and like that they have the polybead floor but are the newer ones better then the 98-99 models?
Wells cargo I like the idea of them and like they have a good re sale value but why don't they do the polybead floor?
Trails west I've heard a lot of good things about them. But is 4200 lbs empty too much for my half ton to pull? My friends mirage with 4 sleds was 5300 lbs the trailswest would be 6200lbs would I notice that much?

I myself am almost ready to order a STEALTH trailer. Really like the looks of them and hearing good things about them, and priced pretty good. Going with a gooseneck though pretty sure. I certainly think that weight would be noticeable with a 5.3. If I were pulling with a 5.3 I'd really be looking into the lightest possible trailers myself but I also have a long ways to tow to get west.

That's what I'm trying to do. My truck pulled that 26 mirage really good I could hardly tell it was there even going up hills. Empty that trailer weighs 3300 lbs anyone know how much a 25' and 27' wells cargo and pace weigh? Can't find the specs. Hopefully there will be a deal on an all aluminum trailer at the snow show this fall

Double R Trailers

I just ordered myself a 30' (24' box and 6' v) Double R Trailer out of Nampa, ID where mirage trailers are built. Probably a little heavy of application for what you are looking for at 5,000lbs dry, but from the research I have done they seem to be VERY well built and the extra pounds don't mean a thing to my duramax (cause it's gunna get 10mpg's no matter if it's empty or towing a crane).

Just something to look at if you want to go steel.

What I like about them is I got to design the trailer myself...literally told them where to put everything on the trailer right down to the window, fuel doors, man door, even the lights!

We picked up a used R&R at the start of the season. We then outfitted it the way we wanted it and off to the mountains we went. The all aluminum frame is sweet and it tows like a dream !! We are very satisfied so far >>>>.

Bought a 24 ft triton prestige about 6 years ago and that thing has been awesome. No problems whatsoever.

Can anyone give me a review on a newer pace American? Have a local dealer here like the trailer.
