weight transfere hitch
I have an 03 Haulmark. It is a steel frame trailer and is on the heavy side but is rugged. It has a dove tail rear, which is easy to load. The front V-nose door is pretty steep and I plan on adding a lifter and a flip over extension. It is the lower profile style which can be hard on the forehead, as in low bridge, once or twice or in my case a dozen times and you learn to watch your head on the front and side doors.
I have a Duramax and get about the same mileage empty (10mph) as I do loaded with three sleds, excepting high winds or steep grades. The best thing I have done is adapt my equalizer hitch that I bought to tow my toy hauler (much heavier) to the Haulmark. I bought some extra stabilzyer bar saddles and mounted them on the A frame of the Haulmark. It is the best thing I have done. The trailer pulls much nicer, as I now transfere weight to the front axle of the truck. No more saging rear end. I pull from western Nebraska to Wyoming and often times it is on slick roads and at a minimum, in high winds. This setup has made a world of difference and makes towing in those conditions far more manageable and not terrigying.
