minimum amount of snow to ride 155 track

What is the least amount of snow you would run in....we got about 4-5 inches of fresh snow here...and I am itching to get my new sleds out to start breaking them in....they are 155's with the deep lug....
Thanks!

The lower the snow the more it tends to allow the lugs to fold over. But heck, I'd go.

Put your scratcher's down and go for a road ride if you dare:eek:
Deep snow paddle tracks and your Hifax don't like low snow conditions. If you don't have scratcher's buy some soon.

Watch your temp gauge and be aware of the smell of burning plastic(your Hifax). If you smell it,stop/let them cool down and kick some snow in the track.
Have fun.:)

Be aware if your riding on USFS land, they tend to not be too forgiving if your riding on anything less than 12".At least here in Colorado and off a designated road.

what is a good operating temperature?

Also, what temp is too hot.... I was running about 122

I ended up going for a 2 mile rip....loved it!!!! I have scratchers but I was worried with low snow that I would be scratching dirt into it.... I did smell some plastic, but thought it was more from hood area like smell of new sled....

My 07 and 08 both run at 118-126 on all but hard pack.I start to get concerned around 150 and shut them down at 160.Better safe than sorry IMO.I've got just over 2000 miles on my original Hifax on the 08,so it's safe to say I don't ride a lot of low snow conditions. The wifes 07 gets rode less than mine and has 1200+ on original Hifax.
