Whats the procedure to FLUSH out the system.

Just checked the fluid reservoir on my MPI Supercharger and its MILKY.

How do you evaluate the system for any damage?

you should be fine...still lots of lubrication with milky oil...just get it flushed and new stuff in..but like you that part i don;t know..

If the fluid is milky it has gotten water in it. You better make sure you find out how it got in there before you change it. I have never done it I would be calling Mack at MPI. Post the answer you get please. By the way the fluid is $85 a pint.

Already have a message in to Mack.
Will pick up two new filters and a liter of fluid.
That should be enough to flush the whole system out and then refill it.

And leave me with enough to take another full fill with me to Revelstoke in 2 weeks.

Going to drill into the frame and reroute the vent hose this week.!!

Thats how i ran mine. I haven't had any problems.

It is common to see. The vent tube inhales as things cool and always seems to pull in some condensation. Change the oil once a season or if it looks milky. The oil you posted works great.

I hate to say it but I told you so. You have to put the vent tube in the frame, it's the only thing I have found that prevents moisture from getting in the resevoir.

You can also use ATF to rinse the system.

YOU WERE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

And by the end of the week that tube WILL BE inside of the frame!!

I prefer the over flow bottle method so I can see if it's vented any oil and if it has what the oil looks like.

If your reservoir level drops and there's oil in the overfow then you know you likely do not have a system leak somewhere else.

KUDOES to MPI.

A box arrived this morning with 2 pints of Traction fluid and a new filter.
Now its time to DRAIN the system and replace the fluid.

Cool.
I wrote Mac a note asking him if he thought this was an OK thing to do, don't have a reply back yet. Would HATE to damage that supercharger by doing something stupid.

Everything in my life takes longer than its supposed to.
Got the reservoir drained and am beginning the flush with ATF and then replacing the filter and flushing with fresh traction oil.
