I've never been to Revelstoke before. What can I expect as far as weather conditions in mid April?

Are there any other details I should know before I head out? Strange laws against flatlanders?

Thanks in advance!

Mid April will still have snow to ride everywhere. You can still get fresh up top in April with the right weather. Generally harder in the morning, slushy-Er afternoon. Should be easy to hit some good sun. Doubt you'll be disappointed with mid-April sledding in bc if you haven't been before :)

I have never ridden in the states so can't compare. I've never ridden in Revelstoke for that matter, but it's just up the road and we get similar amounts of alpine/sub-alpine snow....never seen a year where a guy couldn't ride into late May-June if he wished. Sometimes around here there's more terrain available in April then all winter, as the cat-skiing outfits usually shut down end of March.

Thanks again Jay. I appreciate the information. Either the BC guys are all out riding or they don't want any more "flatlanders" visiting. ;)

Lol it's a full time job riding and keeping flat landers away!

I'm sure it would be easy enough to hook up with some people there to ride with. Try the revy conditions thread if you haven't.

I'm heading out there with a few guys who know the area. At least they tell me they do ;)

Mid april will be excellent. We had a large cycle roll through 10 days ago and then Slurpee like after we messed it all up :)
I'd expect to be riding from 3k on the Boulder road in another couple weeks so trailers will be OK but decks will be best. As far as the snow in the Alpine......we get fresh through April so who knows. Forecast is for precip this week again and Im sure we will see Freshy for the weekend.
Enjoy your trip.

last weekend the 1st km of the road was mostly gavel they prob have opended it up now, hero snow everywhere I managed to poke into a lot of placed that where untouched but slushy by about 11 the road is super hard and icy first thing in the am

a lot of dirt going up boulder. probably more like 2km of dirt now. frisby has barely any dirt tho. the snow up there is really hard before noon but once it warms up its a little better, every thing on frisby and boulder is tracked out. started snowing today and should snow all night. cross your finger for a big dump!
