Michaels Reno Powersports SUCKS

So I am sick and tired of the fact that when you walk into Michaels and try to buy or order parts for Ski-Doo NO ONE AT THE PARTS COUNTER HAS A FREAKIN CLUE. I have called BRP and they are going to take this issue up with the dealership, but all I can say is that if you need Ski-Doo parts and service DO NOT GO to Michaels... And no I am not changing brands because of Tom Dines (he flat out gets it). I know that the Chester dealer provides good support as well.

Michaels only cares about selling motorcycles and ATV's and does not care about the snowmobile community. BRP needs to re-think the Ski-Doo dealership in Reno...

If you deal with michales see Eric West in parts. He is off tues and wednesday but he is the man to see about snowmobile stuff, everyone else there has no clue.

I agree see Eric

I will say I had good luck with Micheals here recently. Also, if you have your part numbers their website has a link where you can order on line. I was able to find all my own part numbers by "microfish"(sp) on ski doo's web site and by pass the parts counter. They even had a fair share of parts in stock. Shipping on the other stuff was about 7-10 days, but it comes out of Canada, so what is a guy to do. Not defending anyone, but sharing second opinion. That being said I had good luck with Thin Air and they have a new very good skidoo mechanic.

So I see my original post has been brought up again. So "snoplug" you are correct, I have used the Ski-doo version to look up parts myself and it works great when I call to order parts from Tom or a dealership in Michigan.

The issue with Michaels is the fact that they do not carry any parts. Why should we have to wait 7-10 days for general service items that we can readily pick up from Thin Air or Tom's, when Michaels is in Reno? I just placed a phone order today with Tom for a part that is not a general service item, that he has in stock and it will be here tomorrow.

I had a similiar thing happen to me a couple weeks ago..I needed a part..Toms normally stocks it but was out..happens. So I called around..I called a dealer in Marysville and they don't even carry parts for the most part..probably why I have never heard about anyone buying anything from them..I called Micheals and they didnt have any parts..then I called Thin Air..they showed they had it in stock but the tray was empty..said we will find you some..called me back an hour later..said they have them in his hand..I paid for them on the phone and he put them in "The secret spot" and I had someone pick them up for me on the way down. THIN AIR has been added to my list of vendors to deal with..

I'll drive to Tom's or have parts shipped to Truckee rather then spend a dime at Thin Air or Micheal's. I've had nothing but horrible customer service from both.
