How is the snow up towards Hart's Pass?

Can you drive past Deadhorse...or is there snow there as well?

Any snow left at SweetGrass?

Wifey wants a picnic ride. Strap the BBQ to the sled and enjoy the sunshine...

Heard the road was plowed up to Cache creek. Havent heard anything on sweetgrass but I would bet it is thin with all the sun.

At thanksgiving there was a big boulder right in the midst of Deadhorse, which made it a bit sporty for getting a crew cab long bed around. Is that big boulder moved out of the way?

Sat 4/25 report

Deadhorse was clear of the bolder....just the usual rocks that are constantly falling.

Hardpack snow/ice at Cache creek. First 3/4 mile was spotty hardpack/ice. Longest stretch with bare gravel was only 50 feet....but that will change within a few days. Beyond that the snow was all hardpack.....1/4 inch of fresh snow pellets on top of hardpack. Cabin at Harts Pass had snow nearly up to the windows.....going fast. Just before Harts I had to drop down off the trail amongst the dead trees in order to continue west....I don't like riding amongst fire killed trees...they're gonna start falling one of these years.

Hardpack/ice at Sweetgrass and Freezeout as well. All that burned forest near Freezeout is really ugly.....It'll take years for those trees to fall.

Sledding was crap....but it was still nice to visit the Methow, and the mountains always beat sitting at home.

Rode Harts yesterday. First 3 miles or so are rough w/patches of dirt. Once you get to the burn the boondocking was easy. Dropped into the 99 basin and then climbed out and dropped into the basins west of 99. Climbing was almost to easy, go anywhere snow. Will try to post some pics later. No trees fell on us going though burn either.
