Mesh Hoods

The sled up front is mine. Mesh side panels, and a mesh nose piece. Just take of the stock panels, and slide these in place, no bolts, hold downs, or rivets. Sorry to those that have seen these a million times.

Not a very good picture, but you get the point.

Ya, i just finished the frame of one for my 03 edge, it turned out pretty good. I just have to put the mesh on now, does anybody have any good idea of holding the mesh on the frame? I thought about using apoxy to glue it on to the frame, but i dont know.

Quite honestly, wrap it, and sew it. Nothing holds like good old thread, the stuff they use on couches, and outdoor seats. You can probably find someone to do it for you cheap.

Nice frame. Don't pull the fabric too tight, or you'll warp the outside edges of the frame. Just enough to look good.

i planning on building one here in the next few week!

I have asked this before but what is the best mesh to use??

Thanks

Where did you get the 3m yellow 77 spray? I have solid round steel for my frame, so i couldnt use rivets, i thought about just using some apoxy glue to glue it on to the frame. Why heat up the mesh first?

The best screen is Textilene. The pet door stuff, is what they call Chinese Textilene. Still good stuff, and much cheaper. Lots of guys are perfectly happy with dog proof screen, so consider it.

There are types of textilene, they use for garbage dumpster covers, and dump truck covers, and safety covers for pool and such. The stuff will take a stick, and not tear. They sell it in percent shade. I liked the textilene plus 76%, but 60% allows a lot of air in, and just a little powder. The sunshure might be good for a clutch area.

Textilene 60%

Have fun.

did a good rollover on snowbank this spring and found you can just take it out on the grass with a hammer and get it strait again in about 1:beer;

the neat part is the total weight was 6.5 lbs with tack and headlight. total of 11 free LBS. now more room for beer!
