For the second time in four years I have fallen victim to economic lay off's In both cases solely because I was the low person on the seniority list! How the f@#K am I ever going to get seniority if I keep getting laid off!!!! WTF SO, if any one out there is looking for a hard working, no BS kind of guy with a vast background in satcom and telecom with a major emphasis in management .... I know a guy!

or if you just need a guy to sweep the back.... at this point I'm not going to be too picky!

That sucks. I got laid off last October and just started working again this November. I know your pain. You might wanna look into DISH and DIRECT TV installation. They were hiring all of the time last year but my driving record was to speedy for them.

Thanks everyone.... The shock still hasn't worn off.... The last time I got laid off it took 6 months to find another job in my field .... The good thing was I had a 6 month severance... This time I only have 9 weeks severance so I hope the job searching doesnt take as long!

I had 15 years at one point and was still the lowest guy on the list. But times change and now I’m the senior guy. Keep your head up it will work it’s self out. Good luck on the Job search.

Sorry to hear. Hopefully everything works out for you, I hear the government will give you just about a year on unemployment, but try making a house payment on that, or a house payment on any other job besides what you are trained to do!

Hopefully something opens up soon for you to get some work.

I've been lucky and havent felt any signs of this recession, no layoffs here and more work than we know what to do with. Unfortunatly we won't hire anyone even though we need them. They way things are going we should be busy throughout the winter and then I go out on fire contract in May.

I take it your salary? That much OT would be killing somebody. Lucky you still have something to hang onto. I offered my old boss a cut in hours if he would just keep me on but it seemed that he felt letting a guy go who had two kids was better and kept his two single and childless employees who made more hourly. He is failing miserably now. KARMA.

That sucks man. The company that I work for might be looking at layoffs next march or april. If it happens then it will be my 2nd time also. Hopefully not but time will tell. Good luck on the job hunt.

I was with a company 8 years, had seniority, made it through at least 6 layoffs, new boss as of 1.5 years ago, didn't see eye to eye, got the boot november 2nd!
not much for jobs out there.
