Well for those interested...
I'm near the end of the design and analysis phase my project. I am designing a rear suspension skid that will bolt into any 2005-2011 M-Series
Sled. Utilizing composites and aircraft 6061-T6 Aluminum, I've came up with a design that indicates it will meet all the necessary requirements set in place.
I'm pumped! I begin construction in January of 2015. I've already got 100 hours into the R&D and I'm sure will have more by the time building and testing is done.
I have a materials list that is fairly lengthy, but I am currently debating on which shocks to install in the suspension? Depending on the price, which shocks do you guys find to have the overall best performance (e.g. Lightweight, smooth translations) in the M series chassis? Raptors? Floats? Coil Overs? I've been leaning towards the floats because of the weight savings.
